Honest question. .Albert is generally hovering in the 40's-50's in most rankings I've seen, which puts him in the 4th-5th round in a 12 team re-draft.

My question is. . Where would you (anyone) feel comfortable drafting him?

Right about there. I take him right after Hosmer goes off the board.

In seasonal leagues, I might even be inclined to take him ahead of Hosmer, but for the most part, I agree right around there.

That's as a 1b, he'll be a first or second rounder due to his DH status which, in my main league we use a real DH spot.

In other words, I think I have a good amount of faith in Albert for 2014.

Id be comfortable taking him in the 4th, late. Right now Id say a great pick if you can get him in the 5th.

I would reach on him... i wouldnt be opposed to picking him up in the 3rd round... I would definitely rahter have him than Hosmer... The difference between Pujols and others picked at around the same time is that he has been a top player before and could be again...

The potential is just to good to pass on, the more i write this post, the more i would say that i think he should be taken in the 3rd round...

Not to tip my hat to future Fantasy competition.... but..... I won't be taking Hosmer ahead of Albert either.

I'm on the Hosmer>Pujols side as well. 40-50 sounds right.

Its not that i wont be surprised if hosmer does better than pujols... I just think Pujols still has the potential to be .300+ 30+ 100+... Hosmer does not have the upside pujols does...

Pujols is still good, but he has been steadily declining for like 5 years now. All of his predictive stats have been trending down, it just wasn't so noticable until he got to LA because he started off at a supernatural level. He could hit 30 and 100, but he is highly unlikely to bat .300 again.

I actually think Hosmer has more upside because we have yet to see his best. If Hosmer hits .320 with 20 HR and 15 SBs, that will be a lot more valuable than Pujols' .270 with 30 HRs.

I hope your right since i have hosmer in my keeper league... But if i had to place money on who will have a better fantasy season Hosmer or Pujols, I would pick Pujols...

Well I'd probably take Hosmer as well, even though his 2012 was a debacle. .He bounced back nicely, and I think he'll not only have a higher average than Albert, but I also think Albert's entering that brittle phase of his career. Hosmer will almost undoubtedly play in many more games, and we all know you can't fill the box score from the trainers table.

I like Pujols in the 5th, but would like him even better if it were not for de agony of de feet.

4th or 5th round... Not any earlier. He still has a lot potential but he isn't getting any younger and it's not like he is a pillar of health at his age.

I agree with where he is being taken, but for me I wouldn't take him there as I usually have a first baseman in the first/second round. By the time round 4/5 roll around I have other interests.
