if he is playing against your team? I've done that in the past but normally its just my WR/RB 2 or 3, never my #1. I have Dez Bryant and I'm seriously considering sitting him so I don't have to quietly hope he gets a TD or two.

By the way, this is for a non money work league. Doesn't mean much to me.

No. Im in too many leagues to be able to root for anything besides offense galore in every game aside from the Texans, Rams and Raiders.

Interesting question, since it speaks to a criticism that I've seen raised about fantasy sports, namely, that one's fantasy interests might compete with his favorite team. Personally, I resolve that potential conflict by recognizing that which team or player I root for has absolutely no effect on what happens on the field!

That written, I don't claim to never feel conflicted. :suds:

It really depends on your roster... If your replacement player is decent enough that you are willing to take the gamble then its not a big deal... But isn't it nice to actually watch your fantasy players actually play live, and not in highlights or redzone channel??

yes, absolutely. I normally look for guys that are playing Sunday night or Monday night so I more of a rooting interest.

yep, I have subscribed in the past to whether I sit a player or not it as zero affect so I should be playing the best available player regardless my feeling. This just feels different Sunday.

Plus I hate the Cowboys.

Doesn't seem to me a winning strategy. Again, who you root for has absolutely no effect on what happens!

Normally no, never. . But Seattle fans are going to be the exception. And it isn't because you don't want to hope your fantasy team scores on your favorite team, but rather since the 'Hawks defense is generally so frigging good, it's not a bad idea to sit your fantasy guys when they play your team.

Otherwise no absolutely not. . If you want to win your league you field the best team possible regardless of fan allegiances.

This is mostly my feeling. Seattle defense normally doesn't give up big points to any #1 WR, sans Jackson last week, so sitting Bryant wouldn't be solely because he is playing the Hawks. I certainly wouldn't play Murray on Sunday.

Nice question.

Generally no (I don't bench him). There's a reason he's the top guy. He's better at his position. He seems to succeed despite poor match-ups. You should always want your best player to play. He deserves to start.

I see that your best player (Dez) is about to play against your Seahawks. Shutouts in the NFL are rare (even though the Jets just laid a goose egg in week 5). I think there's a difference in wanting your Hawks to win, and wanting them to have absolute dominance (as in zero yards, zero TDs, zero points). As fans, it's a nice dream, but it doesn't always work out that way.

Yep.. what Joe said. When I've got guys going against my Cowboys or Raiders..I just hope the guys who end up doing the damage are the ones I have, and that it ends up being one point less than my NFL team gets

Nope. I play the players who have the best matchups, regardless if they are playing my Vikings or not. The Vikings winning will be give me personal satisfaction, while a fantasy football win will give me personal satisfaction AND money in my pocket.

If my best player was playing hurt and had a bad matchup, I might bench him. I would never bench him because he was playing against a team I wanted to win. You have to put rooting interest aside in fantasy football or you have no chance.
