I do. It is my fervent hope that Mark Trumbo doesn't participate in the HR Derby this year.

Anyone got any good ones?

How bout the Madden jinx in the NFL? That one is pretty amazing. Even Calvin Johnson with otherwise record breaking numbers last year was viewed as somewhat of a fantasy dissapointment because of his low touchdown totals.

How about the Bert Bell award?

2005 - Shaun Alexander (2006: breaks foot in Week 3)
2006 - LT (2007: 13 fewer TDs)
2007 - Brady (2008: knocked out for the season in Week 1)
2008 - AP (2009: 380 fewer rushing yards)
2009 - Brees (2010: doubles his previous interception total from 11 to 22)
2010 - Vick (2011: 11 fewer TDs, 7 more turnovers)
2011 - Rodgers (2012: 6 fewer TDs, 5 more turnovers)
2012 - AP (2013...?)

But no, I don't believe in jinxes. But I believe players can believe in them, which is almost as bad.

Gentlemen, I think we have a BINGO on this one. I say that, as the placebo effect has long been proven.

Being a fan is being irrational... but you do what works for you... I know my superstitions are not the reason for my teams success or failure, but try telling me that during a big game when my team needs a big hit and i am not sitting in the correct seat... Jynxes are the same, do i really believe in the madden curse?? no!! but the coincidence is still noticeable and reason to be a little hesitant...

Here's hoping AP doesn't believe in jinxes. :hope:
