seems like a fair question. as fans it would be ridiculous for us to assume that we wouldn't finish any better than 10th this year. i remember when we were sitting in the 10-8th range and thinking that this would be as best as we could be.
i dnt see whats wrong with his question. its Dirk's schtick to ask the daring, anti-nebraska questions. houston radio had a guy named Josh Ines who was a dick to the rockets, it was his schtick….every market has one. i really have zero true assumptions about this program where it is today, they've surprised me every step of the way…but to assume that this PROGRAM (not THIS team, but the nebraska PROGRAM in all) doesn't have baggage and a certain stereotype is ignorant.
he may be a dick a lot of the times but i see his question as fair and legitimate….but thats just my opinion

fuck Houston radio. This is a real city with a real program.
Stop listening to your brother kid.
Dirk is grooming a good one with Chuck 'cept Chuck isn't cut out to write.
first of all I'm not a J major anymore, I'm an accounting major. second of all, the fact that houston isn't "a real city (which is just flat out wrong, my city is bigger than your state bitch) with a real program" is irrelevant from my point which that no matter the school, city, market, country….every reporting entity has at least one person who's "schtick" it is to be the devil's advocate dick….no ifs ands or buts about it…if you don't agree with me thats your prerogative…but it doesn't change the fact that every news entity has a devils advocate, its a fact and necessary part of journalism
Like I said. You weren't cut out for it.
and lastly….not that it matters, but my brother works for sports radio 610 (an AM station), i prefer 790 (their rival station), because 690 focuses too much on the astros and texans IMO, while 790 focuses on the astros, texans, and rockets all equally, which is what i prefer
and my brother has nothing to do with my point…again every media entity has a person who plays up being a dick….its just smart journalism, you need one person that everyone can hate so that the pessimists like him and the general population stereotypical fan enjoy reading the happier guys (ex: simple). you need the one dick to make people want to read the homers; just plain, simple, smart journalism
