Looks like Seattle opened a good size gap between SF and them so the NFC West should be almost a lock for the Seahawks to win. New Orleans MUST win tonight or they will be in the same boat as SF. Can anyone catch Seattle in the NFC with the Seahawks relatively easy schedule?

Smug becomes you.

The seahawks are probably the most overrated team in the NFL. They eek out a few wins over less than quality opponents, beat up on the teams they are supposed to beat up, and now all their blowhard fans think they've won something.

The friggin 0-7 Bucs almost beat them, the Rams too!

Give me a break.

No, the Shehawks haven't won anything. Sorry.

Still better than the Foreskins.

What is smug about asking questions? That is all this thread was ever about. I was/am asking if people think that Seattle may have won the NFCW with the Niner's loss. Obviously not in a literal way, but in a questioning fashion. I was asking if it seems likely that the Niner's can catch Seattle when the Seahawks have a large lead with a short, easy (on paper) schedule left to play.

I don't see what's so insane about asking this question. If you check the main sports sites like CBS, ESPN or SI you'll see some of the expert pundits asking the same question today.

No, it's not them. It's everyone else in the world that has the problem. Lol, even people who have never heard of the NFL are aware that Seahawk fans are annoying.

He clearly states the question as ..... Did the hawks win the NFC in week 9, now suddenly its only about the NFC West after he gets called smug. Funny.

Well the question is really both. The NFCW and also the NFC are Seattle's for the taking if they keep winning. Seattle has 4 out of 6 games left at home which helps. Outside of your Niners in Candlestick which will be a tough game and the NO game the only other game which concerns me is the NYG in NY on an early start. Of course, now the Rams and Cards are playing pretty darned good so who knows those games are definitely tougher then I would have thought about 2 weeks ago. At least we play them at home.

Anyhow, you can read whatever you like into my comments. I never guaranteed anything or proclaimed anything. Right from the start it was always posed as a question.

I have just never seen the fanbase of any professional sports team with zero accolades act so smug. Its kind of unheard of.

He is mediocre. His rating benefits substantially from an awesome run game and is as inflated by your playing style as his cumulative stats are deflated, if not more.

Mediocre? Do you realize that Wilson is in third place for most victories in his first two seasons? That's with six games to go. The two QBs ahead of him, Roethlisberger with 23 wins and Marino with 21. Nice company Wilson keeping there. Now I know wins are a team stat, but QBs are the key to having a good team, you don't win this many games with a mediocre QB.

You know JDM, you have some odd opinions when it comes to QBs.
Newton...mediocre
Wilson....mediocre
RG3...elite and better then Luck
Brees not elite

That's just a few of your opinions on QBs. Hard to take your opinions on QBs seriously. Seems like if a QB isn't named Brady or Peyton Manning, they are mediocre in your opinion ( with the exception of RG3).

Wow! Are you telling me that if the seahawks keep winning and winning the NFC is theirs for the taking?

That is certainly worth a thread to talk about.... My apologies.

But seriously, I would be suprised if you guys didn't win the division considering schedule and everything. Which clearly gives you a nice shot being that you will or possibly can secure home field advantage through the playoffs and a bye. But this is really common knowledge, or like pointing out the sky is blue. I don't understand what the "debate" part of it is?

You realize of course that if you find a particular thread topic stupid you don't need to feel obligated to participate in it? Other's may want to discuss the topic, if you find it silly then why make all the fuss? Is it OK to discuss topics with others even when you don't like the topic, or must you always approve of the topic in order for it to be valid? I'm just curious.

Wilson is NOT mediocre. His passing yardage numbers are unspectacular because we're 31st in pass attempts this year ( 2013 NFL Team Passing Stats - National Football League - ESPN ) and we might be close to 32nd if SF hadn't had their bye already, while we haven't. Wilson is 5th in the NFL with a 101.8 QB rating ( 2013 NFL Player Passing Stats - National Football League - ESPN ) and last year he had a QB rating of 100, good for 4th in the NFL. Wilson is a great passer and also does A LOT with his legs.

I just looked up Wilson's rushing stats and learned that he's averaging almost 40 yards per game on the ground. Probably near the top among QBs, I would think:

Russell Wilson Stats - Seattle Seahawks - ESPN

Russell is not mediocre. The fact that he performs the way he does with such a pedestrian corps of WRs and a shaky offensive line, is AMAZING!

I don't understand ?

You should just leave it at that. From what I've read from you, reading comprehension isn't one of your stronger suits. And, sorry but I lack the patience to take you back to 3rd grade to give you part of the education you lack. Fact is your team lost and your precious Kaepernick looked like crap in doing so. Didn't even break 100 yards passing? And now you're here trying to assuage your grief by ragging on a far better team. Your delusional rants are nothing if not entertaining in a decidedly pathetic way.

Spot on. Deflection is his best weapon. Everyone sees it.
