I just bet a decent chunk of money with a coworker on whether Notre Dame would make the 4-team playoff IF they win the remainder of their games.

I say yes they would make the playoffs with just the 1 loss @ Clemson, he says no they're done.

(If they lose another game, the bet is off and it doesn't matter.)

Which side of that bet would you have been on?

Probably not the greatest of bets with what's happening to USC. If Stanford starts to tumble, then I doubt ND is in. I don't see Clemson having more than 1 loss, someone will be there from the SEC most likely, then you have TCU/Baylor, and Ohio State. Not looking too good for you, mate.

Depends, did you make it before or after USC lost to Washington?

They probably won't even win the rest of their games, don't worry about it...

Due to their remaining schedule, I'd say you better start putting yourself out on Craigslist.

I would've made that bet, but in the interests of full disclosure I suck at gambling.

I can't imagine a scenario in which they get in. Their schedule is just too weak

ND wins out, Stanford wins out outside of ND game. ND would have the head to head over the PAC12 champion. Michigan State beats Michigan who beats Ohio State who beats Michigan State. Michigan ends with two losses MSU and OSU both end with one loss but late in the season. You end up with PAC and the Big10 left out. SEC, Big12, ACC, and ND in.

If ND wins out, they are in more likely than not. So if your bet isn't nulled by a ND loss, you probably win

Not the greatest of bets I've ever seen but certainly not the worst

I would have said good bet for sure before Washington

honestly, its a toss up.

1 loss SEC gets in before ND and it depends if 2 Big Ten teams get in.

I'd bet the second team from the SEC West would get in ahead of ND, especially if they have one loss. (TAMU/Alabama). A two loss Alabama would probably be given the edge over ND.

I think the committee has shown that they put weight on winning your conference with dropping Baylor and TCU out of top four. Norte Dame is a special situation but I think a two loss Alabama would miss out over a one loss Big10 champion (unless it was a two loss Michigan who won the division by whatever tie breaker).

If ND wins out they're in barring 4 unbeaten P5 schools or 3 unbeaten P5 and a one loss Bama
