The D-backs pitching coaches may need to be put under more of a microscope (aka Fired immediately). Kennedy has a better ERA and WHIP than the entire D-backs rotation (not including Chase Anderson...yet...due to smaller sample size).

KT on the radio today. Still employed! Mentions he's been getting a lot of calls about Ahmed. Expect him to be traded for an MLB journeyman utility player ASAP!

He better not touch Nick Ahmed! Gibby claimed him first! La Russa would put the kibash on that before it happened.

Absolutely embarrassing performance tonight. If im LaRussa, im livid

Its like they really didn't want to be out there at all tonight. Trade deadline can't come soon enough IMO

Following players should be moved out of organization entirely, most cuz they suck, others because of what little value they have left before too late

Parra, Hill, Prado, Putz, McCarthy, Cahill, Ross, and Ziegler

You're probably right but that is a quarter of our team...

Keep Parra and Ziegler. I agree with the rest though.

100% keep Ziegler.

The only relief I trust coming into a game.

Diamondbacks prospect right-hander Jake Barrett tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings on Wednesday for
Double-A Mobile, notching his 11th save of the season.

Despite his sparkling 2.59 ERA, Barrett's peripherals have taken a hit from his breakout 2013 season, with a drop in his strikeout rate (8.03 K/9 to 7.77 K/9) and a spike in his walk rate (1.09 BB/9 to 3.70 BB/9). Barrett seems to be unlucky, as his BABIP has increased from an unsustainable .232 to .329, and his FIP is nearly the same (from 2.55 to 2.67). He has the potential to be a back-end reliever, so he could see time in Phoenix if the Diamondbacks need another arm.

According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Diamondbacks have been receiving calls from teams on the availability of shortstop prospect Nick Ahmed.

Ahmed was acquired from the Braves in the January 2013 blockbuster trade headlined by Justin Upton. The 24-year-old is hitting .304/.385/.401 and playing high-level defense this season at Triple-A Reno, but he's blocked in Arizona by Chris Owings. The Diamondbacks (29-39 as of June 12) might want to deal from that surplus and fill other areas of organizational need. Ahmed was a second-round pick in the 2011 MLB Amateur Draft

I like this pickup. I didn't understand why the Rox let him go. He isn't a world beater but has shown he can hit in the past & versatile by playing C/1B/3B. With the likelihood of Chavez needing surgery, a backup 1b/3B was needed. Evans was nothing more than AAAA fodder.

Going to A+ is a bit of a surprise. This tells me they are going to break him down & rework his mechanics from the ground up, rather than just put him in the hitters league known as the PCL.

Parra, Hill, Prado, Putz, McCarthy, Cahill, Ross, and Ziegler

Parra - He needs a long term deal, not to be traded.
Zeigler - He has been the best BP arm this season & is signed to a reasonable deal through 2015. There is no reason to trade him.
Prado/Hill - Who is going to play those positions over the next few seasons? You can maybe trade Hill, but there is no way you will get value for him till he starts hitting again.
Putz/McCarthy/Ross - Nobody is going to trade anything of worth for these guys even if you eat most of their salary.
Cahill - Nobody wanted him when he was available for free. It would be better to try to fix him for a future trade in the offseason or during the 2015 season if he can "fix" his mechanics/control. Right now he is worth
$0 & the Dbacks are paying his salary regardless if the cut him or let him straighten out in the minors.

Arroyo and Anderson are the only starters worth a shit in this rotation

Cahill is toast. McCarthy fucking blows, and Miley fucking sucks too. Collmenter is a really good bullpen arm masquerading as a starter out of necessity only

3-1 pitch, Montero swings 200mph at a curveball in dirt. With 2 outs, and a runner on 3rd, why he ever thought he was getting a pitch to hit EVER in that spot just amazes me

then of course, on 3-2, Feldman throws him the exact same pitch with the exact same result, everyone in the building knew what was coming except for him

fucking shit like that pisses me off and its why ill never be a huge fan of Montero. Wheres the fucking IQ for christs sake. He is a god damn catcher and somehow he always thinks hes going to get a big fat fastball down the middle in that spot

and then he im sure he wonders why his team is soon to be 11 games under .500

real nice awareness there Montero. Take a fucking walk and allow your teammate ondeck to get a big hit

I heard that Cahill is targeted to be back in about a month. Not sure how much progress they can make with him in that time. Hopefully he improves enough to actually be worth something to a desperate, fringe playoff team.
