I agree. It was wrong what he did, but as a competetor and trying to stay healthy this year, I can understand. Hold him out for 1-3 weeks.

I don't have a problem with anything. I wish JG would tell the story, but we know by now that isn't gonna happen. Not sure though why this story is so big- I get the injury, I'm talking about the sideshow. I'm not sure if it has more to do with Dez or more to do with Dallas.

Jerry Jones isn't sure but Dez Bryant says he plans to practice this week
Dez has sat out the last two Cowboys games with a hairline fracture in his knee

Dez Bryant has now missed the Dallas Cowboys' last two games after suffering a hairline fracture in his right knee. The Cowboys have been describing Bryant's status as day-to-day or week-to-week, but he's yet to return to practice.

If it were up to Bryant, according to the Dallas Morning News, his return to the practice field would happen this week, ahead of the Cowboys' visit to Lambeau Field to take on the Packers this Sunday.

Dez Bryant said Tuesday that he plans on practicing this week. The Cowboys wide receiver wasn't specific about how much he'll be able to do, but participating in practice is the next step in the rehab process.

Bryant has missed the last two games and the last two weeks of practice with a hairline fracture in his right knee. He was using an electronic stimulation machine on his right knee during Tuesday's locker room availability.

While Bryant is optimistic that he'll get back on the field, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones cautioned that his status for Sunday's game is still unknown.

"We'll have to see how he works this week," Jones said in a radio appearance. "We won't take any chances there. But with the way he was running at the end of last week, he had some sensitivity or he would've played. We'll take a good look at it this week. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be big days in where he's going to be against Green Bay."

The Cowboys have been able to move the ball pretty well even without Bryant the last two weeks thanks in large part to their dominant offensive line, the electric running of Ezekiel Elliott, and the poise, patience, and pocket presence of Dak Prescott, but they're now running up against the No. 1 run defense in football. If they have to turn to the passing game more often, they'll undoubtedly want their No. 1 receiver on the field.

But as Jerry said, they don't want to take any chances. Bryant broke his a bone in his first during the 2015 season opener and came back quicker than expected, and did not look like himself in struggling through much of the rest of the season. With the Cowboys sitting at 4-1, it's much more important that they have Bryant back for the 10 games after their Week 7 bye than that they have him for this matchup with the Packers.

Dez Bryant is back in action at Cowboys practice, eyes possible return vs. Packers
Dez Bryant has missed the Cowboys' last two games with a knee injury

Dallas Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant has been out since Week 3 with a hairline fracture in his knee. He told reporters earlier this week that he planned to practice this week as he attempts to return to the lineup.

The Cowboys listed Dez as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, and on Thursday reporters got some shots of Dez back in action, going through some one-on-ones and receiver drills.

The Cowboys have managed to win both games without Bryant in the lineup, beating the 49ers and Bengals. The ground game has been utterly dominant in his absence, with Ezekiel Elliott running 38 times for 272 yards and three touchdowns.

They're now running up against the NFL's No. 1 rush defense this Sunday, though, so it's important to have Dez on the field if possible to give Dak Prescott his top receiving option. Prescott has been excellent all year, and even in the two games without Bryant, finding Terrance Williams, Cole Beasley and Jason Witten for chunk gains on intermediate passes, but Bryant is by far the team's best receiving weapon and would add another element to the offense.

Getting Bryant back at practice is a good sign for his potential availability, but Jerry Jones has stated that the team will not rush him back if he's not ready.

Dez Bryant injures his finger in a way that's almost impossible to believe
The Cowboys receiver's minor injury keeps him from catching balls at practice

If Dez Bryant doesn't already have a personal chef, he might want to think about hiring one because cooking can be dangerous.

The Cowboys receiver found that out this week when he injured himself while trying to prepare a bowl of soup. Yes, you read that right, a bowl of soup.

Bryant showed up to Cowboys practice on Wednesday with two of his right fingers bandaged together, so naturally, everyone wanted to know what happened.

According to Bryant, he cut his fingers "while cutting up some carrots for some homemade soup."

First, good on Bryant for adding carrots to his soup. They're the most underrated vegetable, and you really should eat them all the time. I eat them weekly, although it's usually in the form of carrot cake, which is way tastier than soup.

Anyway, Bryant told ESPN.com that his finger injury was "extremely, extremely minor," and that he still plans on playing against the Eagles in Week 8.

The Cowboys definitely lead the league in weird, off-field injuries. Besides Bryant, there was also Darren McFadden, who broke his elbow over the summer after he slipped and fell while walking around a pool.

As for Bryant, he might've said the injury was minor, but apparently, it was serious enough that he wasn't really able to catch any passes during practice on Wednesday.

"Yeah, he's got a cut on the inside of his hand so he wasn't able to catch balls today," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett explained, via the Star-Telegram. "He did a good job moving around, though. I think he's feeling better and better and better."

As long as Bryant doesn't make anymore homemade soup over the next 10 days, he should be good to go against the Eagles. Luckily for Dez, he has some extra time to heal this week since the Cowboys have a bye.

Whatever. I seriously doubt Dez is making homemade soup. They have that stuff in cans. Any kind he wants

Report: Dez Bryant expected to play Week 8 vs. Eagles

Dallas Newsletter

xx
Dez Bryant has not seen action for the Dallas Cowboys since suffering a hairline fracture in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears.

After the Cowboys handled the Green Bay Packers mightily, Bryant made the immediate declaration he'd play on Oct. 30 against the rival Eagles and was matter-of-fact in his delivery. He was limited in practice last Wednesday with a minor cut on his hand, but returned to full practice duties on Monday after the bye.

The Cowboys are 5-1 after taking care of business against the Packers! Don’t miss any breaking news, take a second to sign up for our FREE Cowboys newsletter!

And per ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Cowboys indeed also expect Bryant to play Week 8.

The All-Pro wide receiver stated he was physically ready to play against the Packers, but the Cowboys held him out as a precaution. Adding a bye week's rest to the fold only helps Bryant further as he prepares to make his return.

And once he does, it sounds like he's taking no prisoners.
