Kovy appeared hurt again but that bloody bastard hustled(limited) and made some plays out there. Great effort by him IMO, that breakaway he broke up made me cheese.

Marty, behind another solid defensive front, came through for us.

I hope both Zids and Zubrus are ok, no injury report i've heard off after, so i expect them to be fine.

It's funny, I was texting a buddy of mine who cares nothing about hockey but knows I'm a diehard Devils fan so he tolerates it. Anyway, after the 2nd I said and I quote "we're throwing knockout punches but we ain't landed one yet" After the Kovy goal I texted him again and said "And we just landed one!" Normally I don't start celebrating with 13 mins left with a 2-goal lead expecially with this team but whoever said Kovy killed them with that goal is right on, they were right on because that was indeed a knockout blow!

That said, we can't be thinking we're gonna get half the cheap goals we got against Henrietta so we're gonna have to work our asses off but I think we can take them down in 6 and there WILL BE NO guaranteed win/hat trick to stand in our way this time!

I would luv to see how the Caps or Rags respond to our rd 2 type forechecking..... they aren't exactly powerful offenses either with both goalies showing vulnerability(although Lunq is still a monster)

I think the Rangers matchup pretty well against it actually. Henrik doesn't let up rebounds and the D is so good at collapsing around him that goals will be tough to come by if we face them. Not to mention they are capable of winning 1-0 games so a weak goal here or there could kill us.

yeah i think the rangers are way more capable then the caps at the forecheck. the rangers defense themselves are head and shoulders above the caps and flyers d. i think they are much more fine playing a game of just dump it out of the zone and have the devils repeat the process. could take a toll on the forwards to keep the forecheck going. thats why the rest really will help and hopefully the rags series go 7.

agree too can see 1 fluke goal being huge cant have any of that marty because we wont get a lot of the goals that beat bryz against the lundqvist this time.

Loved the win, sorry could not be on to comment last night after the game... didnt have access to my computer at the time.... One thing I loved about the last two games was the discipline that we are showing in our play. NO retaliation penalties and I think that really goated the cryers. I hope they play this smart in the next round and as much as I would love to see us eliminate the rags, I would much rather have the capitals since I think we would shut them down easy. The rags defense is unbelievable with there blocking shots and no room in front of queen henry. Plus he seems to own us at times and Marty has trouble in there building some times. Lets hope the caps win the next two and go from there....
