I agree with you, but...
(1) Goals that lack skill are scored pretty much every game. Weird bounces, deflections, etc. That's just part of hockey.
(2) I doubt players are going to focus energy on trying to kick a deflection off another player. That would be a waste of time. I think this is just a rule for exceptional circumstances that will rarely occur.
I agree I can't see them focussing their energy on kicking it in off a player on purpose as a regular thing.But I can see times under certain circumstances where a player who has nothing to lose such as late in a game while down a goal,when they can't get their stick on it or many potential desperate times of a game saying Fuck it I have nothing to lose anyway.Not saying its going to happen but not thrilled with the potential doors and injuries it could open.That goal last night that was kicked in did have a major factor in the game understand there are fluke goals but the are atleast based on accidental circumstances.I prefer goals having some kind of standard and atleast put on goal the right way.
