Well this past weekend was another opportunity for me to get inside the ropes and meet the players, find balls and interact with the crowd.

I was Marshaling the tournament again this year on the 6th hole (Done it for the past 4 or 5 years). Almost got hit 6 times by the drives because you couldn't see the ball until it was right on top of you thanks to a white ball and very cloudy or sunny conditions. I completely LOST Vijay Sings (I can never spell his name) ball as he totally screwed up his shot and went way left (and I never saw it at all, just say the paddles hurridly being pushed towards my direction). 5 Marshal's tried to find it and couldn't but fortunately a caddie did. I think I had walked right over the ball too... But it was in the THICK THICK rough! He played a stupid shot and found himself in the drink.

A group of 9-10 people tried to sneak onto the course by coming onto the course by the 6th green through the woods... They properly got escorted OFF the course...

Crowds were smaller than usual (except Monday was pretty good). Only a few drunk idiots trying to ruin it for everyone else but other than that the tournament pretty much went off without a hitch.

All the players who I found their balls for thanked me and some of the even joked with me about how "poor" of a shot they had hit.

I highly recommend people volunteering for this event as it really is a good one!!

Exciting way to end it as well! Too bad 212 yard second shot when 150

Handled the interview with a lot of class though!

Didn't realize until watching yesterday how much Horshel looks like Christian Bale - he could be his double. Agree that he was classy in not acting like an idiot after that poor shot (like many do). Sounds like you had a really good experience.

Sure did. Always do! This was my 4th or 5th year doing it. I also do that Traveler's Championship!

Herschel's expression after he hit the shot was priceless and I applaud him for not swearing or acting like a jack-arse. He could have thrown his club (and probably righfully so) is disgusted after a shot like that but he didn't and I wish him the best.

Got that right!

And how about Joaquin Phonexix look a like Zach Johnson (Who imo is a jack-arse! - Had a bad experience with him)

Looked it up & if you scroll down a bit you will see the likeness. The only one in this link that may be better is the Hoffman/Daniels one.

I volunteered @ the Tour Championship a couple of years...it was fun, but the reward wasn't as good as volunteering on the Sr. Tour...the old Liberty Mutal event was played on Slammer & Squire @ the World Golf Village...we got 2 free rounds for 4 days work in addition to the gear.

On the event this weekend...Horschel just over swung I think...he's come a long way...couple of years ago he would've snapped that iron..glad to see him tone it down some.

Kirk...got some lucky breaks, but also made some nice break breaks...congrats.

Sometimes you just need breaks to win a tournament and Kirk got some.
