okay so in the lineup today we have Alex, DK and santiago. 3 guys hitting under 200 on a team expecting to challenge for the WS. Hope max brings his A game today. He may need it.
Throwing this out......if Vmart has not found his stroke by the All Star game, perhaps the Cubs will give us Soriano and pay for most of his remaining contract. Take a look at Delmon Young's pre-Allstar game numbers from last year. Can Vmart get to those numbers by mid-July? (Remember - Young didn't start every game at DH like VMart has.)
I was told the injuns had a superior bullpen.....heard grumblings from the cleveland area lately..sounded like.....whaat thaaaa fuggggggg is raburn doinggggggggg?
Verlander's fastball velocity has been 91-92 in the early innings and his location has been off. Hitters seem to be fouling off enough good pitches to get JV to throw one over the heart of the plate, and they've been hitting it hard. When the pinpoint location returns for JV, he'll be back to his usual level. Lots of good signs yesterday, though, and with the 13 Ks, I'd say "rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated."
Brought to u live from South Carolina.....not much Tiger Baseball here except Clemson...You are right Howie....one of our favorite posters sure...."greatly exaggerated" the demise of JV and the Tiger Franchise....good call.....baby steps Smitty.....4-4...
Poor Ricky.... He gets Avila behind the plate. But atleast he's got DK and Jay Honny behind him. (crazy thing Burf, I meant every word of that last sentance). I have a hunch as to why the Wings lost last night.
Im starting to hope we play against lefty starters now.....seeing avila getting penciled in bothers me.....guy is so lost at the plate right now.
Anyone seen shane lately? Hes been missing from the AL smack talk thread lately....becoming more of a tiger smack talk thread. So sad, tried to warn the poor fella that in cleveland, history has a way of repeating itself.
