Great job of throwing strikes and burying balls in the dirt by Benoit. 4 outs to get a BIG game 1 win. Nice!!!!!!!!! Helluva job from the pitching staff, especially Max. 16 Ks tonight for the Swingin' A's.... also nice.

Love taking game one when on the road. Huge pressure on the A's now. Next game is virtually a must-win for them.

Pretty much, yeah it is. 5 game series put a lot of pressure on the home teams for sure. And it's Sonny Grays 11th Big League start. I'm putting some VCash on JV "tonight". (I put VCash on Max too)

Bus Driver Booty call went well tonite, I think she will be back for seconds, I only missed the bottom of the 6th inning.......She's a classy dame and let me watch the game and pretended she was interested, then I pretended to be good in the sack.....

1-0 Tigers with JV up next........

Not because he didn't swing the bat well because I would attribute that to rust...but because he was clearly limping. We definitely don't have 100% Miggy. He didn't run after that foul ball at all...or that booted ball at 3rd. We need to get this done in 3 games to give him some more healing time. Go JV tonight shut them bastards down.

Yeah, this injury with Miggy has afflicted him since before the All Star Game. That's 3 months now. I knew when he sat for 5 days before the Phillies series and then came back looking like he was still obviously hurting that he wouldn't be 100% at any time during the season unless possibly they gave him an extended time off (DL) and even that wouldn't be a guarantee to get him healthy. Maybe the Tigers know that whatever the nature of the injury is will take months or perhaps surgery to get over it. All they can do is just try to keep him enough healthy to be on the field and hopefully be productive at the bat, though given his struggles in September there's certainly reason to be concerned.

Miggy does worry me.(He did get a sharp hit back up the box early last night) But, and I know this might seem silly to look at as a positive, but.... The Tigers did very well this season while he was out. Ramon, Kelly, Jhonny.... All of them can be trusted to man third if need be. Miggy is the best hitter on the planet, not doubt. His team though, is deeper in talent than ever before. If he gets on base his second ab, and Leyland pinch runs for him, they can still field a solid lineup the rest of the game, with better defense. I just hope this injury, these injuries maybe, are over when the season ends. Hate for this to something that comes with him in 2014 or longer. He's an absolute great at the plate and hopefully it stays that way for years to come.

It is almost to the point where he needs to DH. Let VMart get behind the plate, at least for this series. His injury looks to be a sports hernia or groin pull. Either way, it isn't getting better this year. I might even consider moving Prince up to third in the order and let Miggy hit clean-up. At this point, the threat of Miggy is bigger than the player. Hope he proves that wrong tonight.

A's fans were awesome at the game yesterday. I don't know what I was expecting but there was a ton of energy at the park. Our seats are a little further back today (no waitress service) so we should get a better feel. I think Verlander is due for a gem.

Bout damn time! Dirks will pinch run for Miggy at some point tonight. Or come in and play left (DK to third)in the 7th or 8th if Miggy, Prince or VMart make the last out of the inning. There's my prognosticating for the evening. Well.... and JV will walk more As than Max did. Looking forward to this one tonight. Go Tigers!!!

I put down an extra 40VBucks tonight. Don Kelly is wager worthy.

I put down 25 on Oakland because that's all I had, at least Tigers win and I'm happy and the Silver Lining is the A's win and I'm over 50 vbucks!

Hedging bets here, Hope I lose my vbucks but won't wake up pissed if the Tigers fail to win.
