Its not a question of where he should go, but a question of where he will go. Unfortunately, due to the lack of quality QBs, he probably will be a top 15 pick. But he shouldn't. And its not because he doesn't have the talent to someday be a good qb. Its because whatever desperate team reaches for him will need him to start day 1. And he is not ready for that.

I like Watson and you never know on any prospect but I dont think he's as great as you're making him out to be. He misses throws and makes bad decisions like most other college QBs. He's probably one of the less risky options but he doesnt have the upside of somebody like Kizer or Mahomes IMO.

Comparing him to other classes...I think hes better than Goff and Wentz but I dont think thats saying much cuz I think they were wayyy overhyped. He's not even close to a Luck or RG3 level prospect. And STILL one of them busted massively. So you just never know.

Id love to hear what makes you think hes so great specifically though. Beating Bama is a college accomplishment and Im not sure it translates in any way to the pros.

If Watson was somehow still there at #17...AND the organization franchise tagged Cousins again...
I think they would take him, Josh Rosen won't still be on the board in the mid round of 2018.
Synder doesn't care about draft picks and he seems to think it's cool to keep changing QBs.
Really, from a business standpoint he is a success, so I'm not sure he even cares about the X's and O's
on the field. Just make money, the fanbase is so strong.

What makes you think that Snyder is making the pick? Also - they finally do appear to have some stability at QB. Again - don't be surprised if they tag Cousins but also use it to buy time as they work out a long term deal this offseason.

The 17 picks is what is pushing his grade down. Every year his yards per attempt has gone down and picks have gone up.

Nobody is complete coming out of college, and completing 68% of your passes is a great sign, but he is not a sure thing at this point.

Actually that is a good point, Cousins could get tagged while a long term deal is accepted.
Mike Shanahan has suggested Synder at times does insist on a pick, therefore making it.
Mike got some serious backlash over Griffin. He clearly didn't want RG3.
As a black man, I can look back and say it had nothing to do with race.
Mike and Kyle want things done a certain way, they micromanage.
Its why they did what the boss told them to do, but also got insurance.
Synder said get Griffin. Its possible he could attempt to do the same thing this year for whatever player he likes

Have to agree here. Snyder could care less about what we do with a 4th rounder. But he wants the 1st round pick to look good on ESPN. So I could see Danny signing off on a QB being drafted, or even traded up for if he got that "Franchise/Elite" grade coming out of college.

You must not have kids. You can only keep a five year old happy so long before they throw a fit and want the new candy. If Watson gets the talk up to being considered an elite prospect, do you really trust Dan NOT to have a talk with Scot to express his desires??

If we have learned anything in the last 20 years, it is that drafting a QB in the first round is a crap shoot. No doubt Watson is a pure athlete and a great college football player. But as we have seen, that doesn't always transfer to the NFL. If fact, more times than not, it doesn't. For all of his skills, he is not ready for the NFL. He pulls the ball down and runs way too quickly. That works in college. Not in the NFL for long. He also missed on some wide open throws and forced other throws into coverage while other receivers were open. If he goes to the Browns, I predict he becomes a bust, at least while there. Now if he can go to a team where he can learn the NFL game in a controlled environment (like on the bench for a couple of years), he has the tools and the football IQ to learn.

IF I were cleveland and another team approached me about the pick because they fell in love with Watson based on last night, I would trade it in a heartbeat and move back. Of course NFL GMs dont fall in love with a player based on one game, unlike NFL fans.......

I'll co-sign everything said above. Far as where Watson goes. I don't care as long as it isn't the Skins picking him. And as long as he stays out of the NFC East. Here's to hoping he has a long and successful career.

Edit:
Well I guess I kinda care. I don't wanna see him in the NFC East just in case he turns out to be a stud.

You could always kick the living shit outta the 5 year old.

And by that I mean. While I doubt Snyder would start up any schemes or plots to acquire Watson. Who knows? If he does though.......if he does.....I hope someone kicks the living shit outta his ass.

I think much like the five year old, Danny has learned to pick and choose when and where to make a public scene.

So you believe that SM would just bow down to Snyder & go along w/ anything like this. Disagree completely.

True, but I believe that SM is a lot ballsier than Shanahan (& is/was not quite as desperate)

There's also the fact that after 2 years Shanny was a shitty 11-21 and 2 last finishes. Scotty Mac is 17-14-1. Won the NFC East once and got to the playoff once, while narrowly missing out a 2nd time. I can't front, the way the Skins finished 2016 was bitterly disappointing to me, but Snyder has never had anyone that he hired during his entire Redskin tenure of ownership. Have an above .500 record after their 2nd year of being with the team.

That's gotta count for something................doesn't it?

Agreed, he's not likely to do the pouting and stomping his feet thing while shopping in Beverly Hills, However, he'll certainly fall to the floor, wailing and spitting out invectives at the NFL draft in Philadelphia.

Heh. I hope so man. There was a time that I believed Snyder sincerely wanted what was best for the team. He just didn't know how the hell to go about achieving it. Lately at times I've wondered if it really is about the money.
