Nelson Cruz
Wood doesn't have the lowest ERA in the majors.
Just went back and re read fro the LA Times this morning
"Wood is unbeaten this season (8-0), with the lowest earned-run average (1.86) for any National League pitcher who has thrown at least 60 innings."
So someone in the AL has a lower one I assume. But for all star having the lowest in the NL is all you need
He probably doesn't have enough IP to qualify. Just like Turner doesn't have enough AB to qualify for highest batting average either.
Turners pretty close I hear. By the time the all star game gets here he should have enough. Weird that an 8 game winner doesnt have enough IP to qualify when he still should have one more start before the break and 20 wins is considered a great year.
Most of his wins were in the 5-6 innings range. Think he only went past 6th once.
Edit: 2 times he went past 6th.
Yes Keuchel has a lower ERA. And LA Times set a qualifier for "thrown at least 60 innings" but in order to qualify for the ERA title, you have to have as many innings as your team has games played.Just went back and re read fro the LA Times this morning

Roy Face, 1959, went 18-1 for the Pirates as a reliever. 93 innings.Gottcha. Imagine an 18 game winner with not enough innings to qualify for the era title. Crazy
Pretty simple to know if a guy is qualified or not.Turners pretty close I hear. By the time the all star game gets here he should have enough. It's based on plate appearances, not at bats.He probably doesn't have enough IP to qualify. Just like Turner doesn't have enough AB to qualify for highest batting average either.

He has been tearing it up as a Brave. Hitting.300 with 13 HR in just over a month. And yall gave him to us for nothing......shockingThe only explanation for this is that he was actually good but the Cardinals coaches are straight up garbage

He is very average defensviely....and thats being kind. But I think his offense more than makes up for any defensive inefficiencies he has.Well first the Cardinals tried to make him a left fielder. He looked worse than Schwarber out there. Then they decided he wasn't good enough to be full time so they moved Carpenter over to first where he's looked awful in the field, and basically gave him no at bats. It's ridiculous
