When the music's over
Sabres coach Lindy Ruff says center Derek Roy's recovery is on schedule and that there's a chance he could return to the line-up if the Sabres are still alive in the playoffs by the middle of May.
Roy suffered a torn quad muscle December 23rd. He had surgery and will remain out for the remainder of the regular season. Roy skated briefly after taking part in the team picture, and Ruff said afterwards that a return for Roy in May was a possibility.
"He's working out... just rehabbing. I think the timetable is set for some time in May which would be a possibility. I haven't heard anything different."
Ruff said that at this point, there is no immediate plan to even get Roy back on the ice, but Ruff did tell 2-On-Your-Side's Adam Benigni that a return late in the playoffs would be a possibility.
