And you needed to have Adam Schefter report this before you knew this would be the case?

Will Manning go to any of the games he doesn't play in? Just wondering if he will mentor, if not only for the hope Osweiller keeps the team ready for him if he comes back (I say this because someone might think he had no interest in Osweiller succeeding if Kubiak was thinking of making a decision).

Nope. I don't think he's even around. I actually think he's almost been sulking at home.

LOL. The goal is for Peyton to be rested up and ready for the 2017 playoffs..

Assuming that Manning is healthy for the playoffs, if Oz continues to play well, I'm not so sure that Manning sees the field at all, playoffs or not. As crazy as it seems, only being removed from a record setting QB season by a couple years, the job is now Osweiler's to lose.

He's in Charlotte, working with foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson.
Ok, I only read that he and Ware weren't traveling with the team. It makes sense that he's with a foot doctor/specialist.

Would it even be wise for him to play?

Information coming out of the Broncos is that he absolutely won't play unless he's healthy. I'm assuming that would mean they believe there is no risk of re-injury or making it worse. It's arguably all coach speak anyway. It feels like they hope that Osweiler continues to play well and that makes the decision for them. "Whoever gives the team the best chance to win". We've heard that song and dance a million times.

I'm actually glad to hear that. The fact that he didn't seem to be helping Osweiler and didn't go with the team to to Chicago to help looked pretty bad.

It's Osweiler's job to lose imo. Even when he was "healthy" Manning wasn't playing that great. Having someone who's consistent and somewhat predictable lets the entire team just concentrate on playing the game.

Is normal seeing injured players stay home during away games.

Yep. We're saying the exact same thing.

When I was little, I saw Unitas leave Baltimore to play on the Chargers. But he only lasted a few games and I never saw him actually play.

This time I am and its almost sad. And I never was even a Manning fan.
