As it stands now - which are the Broncos weakest or least proven position groups?

This one is easy: QB.

With that said, it's fair to say our QB is the most unproven, not necessarily the weakest. When you consider the importance of the position (no QB, no chance) that elevates the situation.

Ideally Nix can develop not only into the long term solution for the Broncos, but also a "face of the league" type player so we'll get taken care of by the league the way some of the league's other favorites do.

The position group I'm most worried about are the ILB - with Josey Jewell gone off to Carolina.

This is a good pick. I've seen a lot said about ILB, all of it expressing concern. But if you have a good QB, especially one the NFL loves, you can overcome a lot.

Safeties and QB - QB is a complete unknown, who knows if Nix will be good. Regardless both Wilson and Stidham aren’t good so it all depends on Nix. Safety looks rather thin, losing Simmons hurts, Locke and Jones are decent enough IMO but the position doesn’t look great.

There is a weird intangible - in that a very large number of DBs on the roster were all on the same UT Longhorns team. I don't say the familiarity with each other is a factor that overcomes the talent level needed - but communication in this group should be at a high level. The Safety position is a weakness - that needs to prove itself -= no doubt.

Oh I didn’t see TE as an option, I thought it was lumped in with the receivers, yeah TE is definitely a position the Broncos need more production from and I’m not sure who will give them that. So yeah it’s right up there with QB and safety as the biggest position concerns.
