Luckily today was my day off from work and I spent an hour or so checking out the other Husker message boards and was surprised at how many people are pissed off at Bo for yelling on the sidelines at Taylor and Ben.
I realized it was a generation issue. Generation X (which is what Bo is) values hard work, discipline, and hates being micro managed (among other things but these fit really well into the attitudes for Bo controlling his players). An attribute of x'ers is the ability to correct a problem immediately and successfully. Many of the posters who supported Bo, by the way the handle themselves, I would suspect are generation X. I would be very surprised to find a 40 something who feels Bo did something wrong by yelling at Ben and Taylor.
Generation Y are very self centered and hate discipline because well... they are self centered; which is why many readers are having a hard time grasping the image of Bo yelling at Taylor and other players. An attribute of y'ers is the ability to correct a problem after thinking for awhile on the issue and then implementing a plan to correct it thus they feel Bo shouldn't yell in public. He should wait until later after thinking of the issue at hand and developing a strategy to correct the players attitude and not had any yelling. This is what they are comfortable with and feel 'safe' about not hurting their image or feelings.
Then you have Generation X/Y who are a combination of both of these but understand the hard discipline because they actually had good parents. They agree with Bo's attitude but it's still hard for them to watch. They will usually say something to the effect of it's okay what he did but he should have yelled later behind closed doors.
...just my opinion but had to say something after reading all of the anti Bo shouldn't yell posts....
