This guy is so hard to get a read on sometimes. He obviously helps out our offense quite a bit because he can really get open but man, he drops so many damn passes!!

Is his ability to get open overrated though because of the threat Vernon Davis is? Is Walker worth having on the team or is he easily replaceable? Just kind of want to see others opinions on him and who wants to keep him on the team. I think he is a FA after this season.

He isn't easily replaceable because he does so much on both offense and ST's but this dudes hands are horrible. I don't get how in the hell he was a former WR cause he will catch 1 and drop 3. Someone should have gotten him a juggs machine for Christmas

What? What good does that do when he drops everything thrown to him? He is a serious liability.

yeah, good he's versatile but the key for him is still catching the ball.

He does help out a lot, but whenever I watch the games I always get nervous when the ball is thrown to him and when he drops it my emotions get the best of me and I want him cut lol

I like what we have in DW, a perfect(cheap) compliment. His inconsistent hands have been a nightmare at times but for some odd reason the defies logic he'll make the harder catches more so than the easy ones.

Attention is to VD and it leaves Walker in a favorable matchup. Walker creates mistmatches as well.

Eifert is your typical TE with solid hands and good strength IMO.

However, is he as fast or quick as DW?

Their probably close enough that it's negligible (due to DW's age), but I think Eifert will be gone by pick 30 (which should be used on the best available player in the defensive secondary or 3-4 end, anyway).

I wonder what sort of contract DW will command in the offseason. He played 73% of the snaps against GB. So regardless of his drops, he does a lot of things well in order to command that sort of playing time.

NT, DE right now for me are areas to upgrade or stock up. ATM...

Add a Center and a receiver to play opposite Crabtree and I'm with ya.

C would be a tough one to pick. If Goodwin decides to call it early, a Jones or Warmack(mentioned as C but idk) would be ideal candidates...

but DL is something to improve given our situation in the rounds.

With Colin throwing fastballs, Delanie's gonna drop even more.

The 49ers have announced they have hired a specialist who can help improve Walker's hands:

Is it safe to say that our TEs are two of the worst hands on the team? It's usually the other way around.

the playing time is due to the fact that, Manningham and Williams are out. He is a better option than Jenkins at present time

Walker seems to drop the easy catches but make the difficult ones -
Davis may very well be the most overrated TE in the league -

Yes, it is safe to say our [two starting] TE's have worst hands on the team. I would like to see Celek next year.

geez, last year i posted something that didn't even go so far as "overrated", but man the reaction to it was swift and protective.

do think his receiving abilities is a little overrated, but then again, i only read stuff here?
