I don't get it. Shit-stirring aside, the Pens had 4 players voted on last season, and three of the four had every reason to be there.

If Crosby is back by next week, which is looking more and more likely, he'll have about two months worth of hockey by the time the ASG is played. If he's healthy, I hate to break it to ya, Puck.. but Crosby's probably going to be in Ottawa at the end of January.

I'm beginning to think he will not be playing before the ASG.

I haven't read any reports of Sid having new, concussion-related symptoms.

I'm speculating, but I think it all boils down to the fact that Pittsburgh hasn't had more than two back-to-back days off since the season began. Because of that, they haven't had any team practices where Crosby could be hit. Heck, Wednesday was really the first time he went through a real, live-contact practice. I'd say that has more to do with him not being green-lighted, than anything. He needs more reps, and they weren't getting the opportunity, until now.

That speculation makes more sense than any other speculation reported on the networks IMO

I don't understand the scheduling of games in the NHL. Do they just put game dates in a Yahtzee cup and give it a toss on the craps table? It makes zero sense.

I think it was "Lets show how much we love the Pens and end up unknowingly fucking them over."

Of course come seasons end I'll be saying the NHL wanted rested and healthy for a long playoff run ;)

I think Sid should return soonish, but I'm not gonna lie, my first thought when I saw he didn't speak to the media two days in a row was that he had recurrance and was worried. But then he wouldn't be practicing anyway. I think that regardless of the situation Sid shouldn't speak to the media until the day he's coming back. I know he's just as sick as we are with "nothing new, felt good, we'll see."

4 / 6 starting spots is just wrong no matter what team it is, and unlimited fan voting has just been a pet peeve of mine since SJ did something similar back in the 90's.

yeah,i think Sid will be back next week, so he may well have the opportunity to make a statement before the game. hell, even if he isn't voted on, which coach would not select him?

If Sid comes back by next week, I think he'll put up All-Star caliber numbers and earn his spot.

At least I hope so....

Now you guys are talking straight up crazy. If we're going to have write in votes for random players on the Devils go for somebody funny like Mark Fayne.

LOL not random, I truly think Clarkson and to a lesser extent Zubs should go over Kovy and Parise so far. Same with Hedberg over Marty
