I was going to ask if this Western Conference Championship series would be a battle of Oklahoma vs Texas. seems like it will be. IMO this is good for NBA. But sad that you need a CFB rivalry to help stir things in the NBA and make some passion between two franchises in the western conference finals.

Seeing how the Thunder are the only major pro team in Oklahoma and new at that why would there have been a rivalry outside of CFB?

There will be a lot of Texans that will root for OKC because of Durant.

Yes, and there are a lot of "new" St. Louis Rams fans in Oklahoma now, too.

Well that's good, at least there aren't Oklahomans that are tying their allegiances to bandwagon franchises like the Steelers or Patriots.

When I lived in Houston I knew a lot of people who hoped every Dallas team would lose. I suppose its still that way to some extent, so there may be some in Houston cheering for OKC.

Portland tried to pick up a major league football team and with mayor Sam Adams at the helm he thought he did get a major NFL team but instead he signed a deal with a futbol team.

I think the proximity of Dallas has kept a lot of pro teams from looking OKC. In fact OKC is larger than 4 or 5 of the current NFL markets and several of the MLB markets.

you;d get the humor if you lived around the Portland area. Sam Adams is a joke. the guy during election was caught kissing a 17 year old boy and have relations with him. Somehow the people of Portland being so left-winged didn't seem to care and made him Mayor anyways. he has also killed all hopes of gettting an MLB team to Portland which many Oregonians have wanted for years.

I don't think population really matters. I mean look at Green Bay.

it matters. just some fan bases are so loyal that it works, such as Green Bay.

That's one exception. Hell both the Royals and Marlins were looking to move a few years ago. The Royals got a stadium upgrade to keep them in KC and the Marlins are in limbo. Cincy will always have the Reds no doubt, but the Bengals could be another story.

I also think a lot of the reason the NFL doesn't look to OKC is OU to the south. But between Norman, Tulsa and OKC they would have over 1 million. And Tulsa, though jealous of OKC, would probably support any team in OKC.

Marlins have a new stadium in the works. but look at a team like Tampa Bay. They need to move ASAP. Their crowd is just ridiculous.
