I hate it when I'm pulling out of my driveway to go somewhere and one of my elderly neighbors stops me to have a chit-chat.
Just tell them you are a late for a medical appt at your age they get it.I hate it when I'm pulling out of my driveway to go somewhere and one of my elderly neighbors stops me to have a chit-chat.
They're older than me and they start to tell you about their last doctor's appointment. My final get away is ..."My wife is cleaning, cooking, doing something and I have to get moving or get in trouble." The women all side with her and the men generally jump aside and nod as I pray that a dog or they don't decide to start moving in front of me. For them, I'm someone different to bounce a life story off....Just tell them you are a late for a medical appt at your age they get it.
He's not crazy - he's the "stay off my lawn guy"Crazy neighbor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a guy doing land grading around my new pool. He was using a Bobcat and taking loads out to a dump truck and he'd bounce the loader on the inside of the dumper to make sure that the heavy, sticky stuff dropped off. The Bobcat guy had a super duty diesel that he let run while he was working because he had a bad battery and didn't want to get stuck. His new battery was on order and hadn't arrived. This 83 year old guy across the street, knew he was working in my yard and decided that he'd teach him a lesson and shut off his truck. The woman next door texted my wife that she had seen him do it. (What else do the really elderly have to do other than sit in a window and watch to see who walks by??) The Bobcat guy went out to dump a load and saw that his driver door was open and he was some kind of pissed off that someone had been in his truck. I snuck over to my neighbor's and warned him that the guy would drive his bobcat through his garage if he went anywhere near his truck again. I haven't even seen the guy waling either one of his dogs since last week.
