my post was a question.....

A grayshirt is when a scholorship is offered but will not count towards a yearly total until the 2nd semester. Our center last year, Jacob Hickman was a Grayshirt if I remember correctly. Bronson Marsh was one too I believe.

Essentially the player is a regular student, paying tuition and room and board for the 1st semester until their scholly kicks in after the 1st of the year. In addition to that, their scholly counts towards the next years total. So Sutton's scholly will count towards the 2012 seasons recruiting class (as far as numbers are concerned).

This grayshirt stuff is kind of why USC is getting 25-26 guys this year. Through a loophole, they were able to count guys who signed early towards the previous class.

Obviously, this isn't people grayshirting....but it is basically the same thing only in reverse.

Hopefully that isn't confusing as hell....
