I think this eventually hurts the Chinese fans more than the NBA. Correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't NBA presence in China almost non-existent before Yao in 2002?

Are they really going to boycott the whole league over a tweet by a guy that only represents one team?

That would be like the equivalent of me giving up watching basketball because I once saw a guy stand outside Madison Square Garden with a MAGA hat on.

All I've seen is they pulled 2 preseason games and said they weren't airing Rockets games.

Has anyone else noticed that aside from Yao, China does not produce NBA caliber players and the teams of their best natives are outmatched against G-league level competition?

In the longer view, they need us more than we need them. Soon the majority of their sports fans will be too young to remember Yao. The NBA should worry more about relations with Turkey and Cameroon than China.
