I know the Bengals are never incredibly active when it comes to Free Agency, which I am fine with, but...

Darren McFadden fits the profile of the type of FA we bring in:

* Former top ten draft pick that has not lived up to potential
* Low risk, high reward type
* Could be had on the cheap with a chance to showcase for another shot with another team

His best season came in 2010:

1,157 yards rushing, 6 TD's
47 receptions, 507 yards and 3 TD's

with someone named Hue Jackson as the Offensive Coordinator.

I'm not advocating for anyone from the position group to get cut to make this happen, just bring him in as a roll of the dice.

Take him. All we ask in return is Sarah Jones (Ben-Gal) & a big bucket of snow. :suds:

You'll probably need some antibiotics too.

Want us to throw in a Z-pak?

he spends half the year on injured reserve. unless you want to make him 3rd rb and save him for the playoffs it's a waste of a roster spot that Cedric Peerman or some special teamer could fill.

Brandon Ghee might be gone (his contract is up). If so, we need a new guy to take a roster position and never play due to injury. McFaden fits the bill!

I thought of McFadden as a FA option because of Hue's promotion as well.

He's lost most of his explosiveness after a lisfranc injury to his foot in 2011. If he's open to a low salary deal and a clearcut role behind Bernard I still think he'd be a good pickup. He can catch the ball out of the backfield and block well in pass pro

He may have a few good games in him, but as soon as he gets going he'll get hurt.

Surely Ghee could be reupped on the cheap. Dude graded at +4.9 on only 70 snaps. I want to see more if that is possible(I realize that might be the most he is capable of.) Only 9 passes were thrown his way and he has 4 pds.

Draft that kid from Towson. The rb...forget his name. It's probably Bubba.

Considering how thin the Bengals are at CB, I don't see themd letting a CB go without signing another player to fill that void.

Besides, as has been mentioned...too injury prone. No thanks. Find a cheaper, healthier RB in the draft.

I have watched this kid quite a bit since he is in the AFC West and it would be money wasted if you ask me. He was a guy with such promise when he came into the league but his injury history is just getting almost laughable. And as somebody already mentioned that Lisfranc injury caused him to lose all that speed that made him dangerous when healthy. The Bengals would be wise to pass on him and let some bottom feeder team take a chance.

DMC will flash some potential then gets a hang nail and misses 3 games. It's a cycle that keeps repeating itself. He would not even be worth the wasted roster spot.
