Lemme' guess; after not running it all winter, a seal dried out and all the coolant leaked out?

I used this stuff last year.
It's easy, but follow the instructions. It takes a few minutes to take a full charge.
It worked great on my wifes car. It wasn't all the way warm, just half way cold, so don't know if you have the same problem.
After you buy the initial set up, all you need to do it again is the can of coolant

The compressor went out in mine last summer. The repair shop quoted me $1,200 to fix it. I went to Napa, bought the parts for $350, installed the new parts, drove it to the repair shop (with the a/c turned off) and they pulled the vacuum and charged it for $150.

That's not a leak sealer is it? I wouldn't recommend using a sealer if it is.

I've never repaired my A/C myself but I 've had it repaired many times. HAd to scrounge for compressors, etc.

But I've always just bucked up and had my shop guy do it. I don't have a lot of spare time and working on my car really sucks up the little I do have...

Heck, I don't even remember if it has a sealer in it.
I think it just has the freon and oil.

The thing about a funky A/C system is the leaking refrigerant is a bad thing.

And if all you do is keep sticking in more so it too can leak into the atmosphere rather than repair the actual problem I think that is the wrong approach.

I've always repaired the unit as required. If I want A/C it's up to me to keep it working properly. I have two 20+ year old Fords (95 SHO and 91 TBird SuperCoupe) and both have fully functional A/C units because I have kept having them repaired.

Did you say you tried to recharge it yourself???
If you did, did the A/C get cold at all and for how long.
Maybe something that seals up holes in the system then recharge, then go trade it in while it's cold.

If you want to gum it all up by all means use a sealer.... I'd need a gun put to my head to conciously use something like that in either my A/C system or my cooling system.

I'd consider it in the cooling system if caught with a failure and on the road, but I'd have serious misgivings about doing so.

I'm with you on that unless I'm driving straight to the dealership and trading it in while it's cold.
