That's why you sign good QBs for as long as you can...it only gets more expensive...and the guaranteed money really puts the cash strapped or ownership limbo teams in a real bind
Yeah, exactly. People have to remember that any "guaranteed money" has to be put into escrow so ownership has to be willing and able to do that.

that is why the Raiders lost Khalil Mack. They were too poor to do that.

That’s why many thought redskins would lose Payne but he was signed late enough for it to be paid by Josh Harris

Now that the details are up i'll stick my hands up and say I got this totally wrong. It's a 5 year contract rather than 6 years and the Ravens caved completely. $80M payable in year 1, $156M over the 1st 3 years, and $29M of year 4's money guaranteeing before year 3. It's a horrendous contract for the Ravens.

Least they're playing to win now. Based on Cincy and Pittsburgh, I don't blame um. They always draft and develop well.
