Yeah he has been nothing short of incredible this season so far.
He won't get the votes like Peterson did because of how much the game has changed to passing but thus far he is having a better season than Peterson did when AP won the MVP.
He's also going to struggle against a team that has a good defense and is committed to stopping him and saying "Kirk Cousins is going to have to be the one that beats us, not Dalvin Cook."
I think that probably happens next Monday.
Cook isn't the pure runner that Peterson was, but he's much more versatile in that he can catch and block. He also doesn't dance waiting for a block trying to hit the home run every time like AP did. Cook seems to be much more of a student of the game than Peterson ever did.
The problem comes down to health. Dalvin has missed multiple games in every single season with various injuries (which compares a lot more to the start of Robert Smith's career). Peterson rarely was hurt until his final season with the team.
