Yeah he has been nothing short of incredible this season so far.

He won't get the votes like Peterson did because of how much the game has changed to passing but thus far he is having a better season than Peterson did when AP won the MVP.

He's also going to struggle against a team that has a good defense and is committed to stopping him and saying "Kirk Cousins is going to have to be the one that beats us, not Dalvin Cook."

I think that probably happens next Monday.

Cook isn't the pure runner that Peterson was, but he's much more versatile in that he can catch and block. He also doesn't dance waiting for a block trying to hit the home run every time like AP did. Cook seems to be much more of a student of the game than Peterson ever did.

The problem comes down to health. Dalvin has missed multiple games in every single season with various injuries (which compares a lot more to the start of Robert Smith's career). Peterson rarely was hurt until his final season with the team.

That block he put on Griffen (former teammate... :dhd: ) yesterday was perfect. I don't think Peterson put a block down like that, in his entire career.

....with McCaffery hurt this year, who even comes close? Henry is the next close one but Henry isn't nearly as dynamic in the passing game.

Obviously Cook could get hurt before the end of the season to which he is prone....but if he stays healthy for most the rest of the games, he has a stranglehold on the best RB in football in 2020.

Gotta give respect where respect is due he said he is the best back in the league, he is playing for a contract and right now he definitely deserves to be paid more than Kenyan Drake and David Johnson.

He already got his contract just before the season started. 5 year $63million. $28.2 million guaranteed.

Dalvin and Henry really are not close right now either.

Henry is a bruiser and relies on wearing ya down. There is something to be said for that, but his YPC is 4.6 which is still really solid but nowhere close to Dalvins 6.0.

No other running back is even over 600 yards this year.
