with the only challenging games on the schedule being @Pitt @ariz and @denver (we might take 2 of those given the circumstances when we play them) he can be cocky. the law of averages has come full circle to us, if key people can just stay healthy.

I say that every single year. For the most part, the team that can stay the healthiest has the greatest odds of making it to the SB. Most of the teams in the NFL are so closely matched as far as talent that any given sunday, it can go one way or the other. Those that can stay healthiest usually stand the greatest chance.

It is not really about talent in this league unless you are looking at the bottom 5 to 8 teams. The rest of the league it is based on health.

FIFY.

This league is still defined by quarterbacks..... The Bengals have been good because they're healthy, but they've also been good this year because Dalton is playing at the highest level he's ever played.

You could flip that though.

Is Dalton playing at his highest level because everyone is healthy? I mean, who in the NFL has more weapons on offense? AJ, Eifert, Jones, Sanu, Gio and if Hill ever gets going, plus a top 5 OL. Let's hope we don't find out the answer to this question.

Dalton has taken strides, big ones, this year with running the offense. This isn't to take anything away from him. He's earned it this year. There is no doubt about it. But, it's also fair to point out, that his job this year became much, much easier (easier than many QB's in the league) when this offense got healthy. AJ, Eifert, Jones all missed time last year or played hurt including Gio as well. Then adding in guys who have had to pick up the slack while those guys were injured, and now this team has talent, experience, and is putting it all together.

Dalton makes horrible decisions at times, but he has also been known to hit receivers on the money and have them drop the ball as well. so it's a little of both. said it before, he's a poor man's Matt Ryan, but that's better than what half the NFL has so just keep doing it for now.
