this will be an interesting conversation this off season.

there is a point where $$$ does not match benefit/value. we shoulda learned that lesson already with Cuz

have noticed significant holding penalties being called on him this year too. that and health, interesting conversation

I am going to challenge you on CUZ . We wouldn’t have had to absorb a 45 mil cap hit if we kept him . We had him for 16 to 20 mil for 5 yrs but that was nixed by Allen .

As for BS he is a 4x pro bowl OG , and an all pro . Losing those kind of players weakens your unit .

My thing is if you pay top dollar for an OG ( even high end tackle money ) but pay tackles less ( Leno , Lucas. Cosmi ). We are at the same place as if we paid top money for tackles . We have to sign Wes Lucas and Leno before we determine what to do with BS .

I think he walks and it will hurt

me too.

especially since he keeps missing 3 plus games every year.

I love the guy and think we are better with him but there is such a thing as too much $$$
I actually think we get something done with him. With the cap going up, if he walks its because we didn't want him for the price he was asking for.

I agree

my point is franchising a player twice is short term thinking

maybe the issue was Scherff doesn't want to stay

Scherff might just be tired of losing. Him wanting outta here could very well be the issue.

That's contrary to what he always has said. Always about the money.

What is he asking for. Have we been lowballing him or is he asking for the sun, moon and stars?

Top tackle money is what he wants . The nfl considers all o/lineman the same for cap purposes

You determine who is replaceable and who isn't. The depth is nice as you can see from this year with Oline but, Lucas can be replaced. Leno might be another story and he and Cosmi will make solid bookends at Tackle. I don't see anyone throwing huge dollars at Leno so signing him now may be a priority to lessen the blow of a huge contract. Let's get Charles ready to play OG next year or continue the backup swing tackle, build some depth as we did this year and move forward. Don't beg Brandon to stay and while is a Pro Bowl type player, he is not playing at Pro Bowl levels. Flowers is and Rollier just resigned, bring back Leno on an affordable contract, Schweitzer has been tremendous, Ismael stepped up as did Larsen and we have Charles. Bring in another vet multi-positional olineman and draft a couple reinforcements. You can find some talent in rounds 3-7 that can help this team moving forward. There are quite a few guys on other rosters who are backups waiting for an opportunity either where they are at or elsewhere. Bottom line is guys want to be on the field, not just on a team. The teams oline play will not diminish to the point of "the sky is falling", if we do not resign BS. If I can point to 1 area that has been a pleasant surprise this year, its been our run game even with constant line changes due to injury. The guys up front usually get alot of credit for keeping continuity when this happens but the Oline coach should get his kuddos also.

no one said the sky would fall . what i did say is losing hof potential players like williams and BS isnt a good thing and paying him more doesnt hurt us if we are paying tackles less

He needs to take precautions, the vax can have dangerous heart side effects on the players. And the vax isn’t near full proof . Certainly nowhere bear polio mumps or measles full proof
What facts do you have that shows this heart side effect on players? I’d love to see them.

i can PM you some if you want links

there are world cup soccer players who are vaccinated who had suffered from heart related issues linked to the vaccine . most victims of this are young people who statistically have little or no chance of dying from covid ( most with pre existing conditions ) . pro football players fall into this group

now these early side affects are rare . as rare as it is from you dying of covid( or players in these age groups ) but concerning all the same

you will have to google them and scroll through a ton of links because these things show up at the bottom of the google lists . once i see some on twitter i will PM you
