I really don't see how you could match up much closer than this. When Smitty beat me, I figured I'd be voting his way the rest of the mock, but I think 500 has a little better overall team, by no more than a hair. Might see what the tiebreaker is in this one

500 in 7

It is interesting one semi final is a offense battle, this is a pitching battle. I think the bats are a wash, but I like MSitty's rotation a little bit more. Smitty in 7

500.
Best rotation in the draft, and plenty of pop in the lineup.

There are no tie-breakers anymore. First team to 7 wins.

I really like both these teams, great rotations, good pens, I gotta lean Smitty cuz I like his bats a bit more.

I came in to this thread and wrote Smitty wins because.... then got stuck on the because, not sure what happened, because last round I saw smitty's team and thought it was the best... and I didn't like how 500 only has 2 lefty pitchers on his whole team... But I am still stuck... so, I will go slowly here...

Lineup-

Leadoff- sizemore vs Jeter... We are not talking careers here, Jeter would clearly win that... But as for who is the better leadoff hitter. I like to look at BA, BB%, and SB%, that goes to Jeter, Sizemore, tie...
in a close race Jeter wins
2- Cano vs Pedroia- here I like to look at BA,BB%,SB%,SO% that goes to Cano, Pedroia,Pedroia, pedroia.
another close one but pedroia wins
3.Mantle vs Greenberg- Here I like BA,BB, XBH%, HR%- Mantle,Mantle, Greenberg, Greenberg
-TIE
4.Chipper vs Braun- Here I like BA, HR, XBH- Chipper,Chipper, Chipper
- Chipper wins- Not close...
5- Matt Holiday vs Joey Votto- I like BA, HR- Tie, Tie...
This is a tie...

so I slightly like Smitty's top 5 more than 500s, I love votto, but I think he is wasted a little hitting 5th...

6-9 I like 500 MUCH more than smitty...

L/R balance for lineup- both teams are fine...

Bench- Tie...

SP- slight edge to Smitty due to R/L balance
BP- weakness for both teams... 500 has the better closer, but smitty has better everywhere else...

even with an analysis I am still confused on who to take... Smitty has a better meat of the offense, but 500 has a better overall offense, Smitty has an overall better rotation, but 500 has the best 2 pitchers...
500 has the better closer, but smitty has the better rest of BP...

ummm....

Smitty???

I think my depth in the lineup makes a slight difference. I will vote me in 7 games. Smitty's team is excellent.
