If we actually had good hitting and relief pitching and there was evidence that they were just having a flukily bad start, I might agree with you. The unfortunate reality is that all the evidence suggests that no, they just suck. If anything is fluky, it is the good pitching, as 3 of 5 starters have ERAs well beneath their career bests.

Yeah I dont think the hitting and the relief pitching are world beaters by any means but I do believe they are better than they have been thus far. Cubs have the worst batting average in baseball with runners in scoring position ( substantially lower than their overall BA) this will even out eventually . The relief pitching is more of a concern but I think that is simply going to be rectifiied by not pitching Marmol and Wood as much. The other guys have been OK. I seriously think there isnt a team in this division thats any damn good and in that scenario Ill take the team with the best starters every time.

I mean, it was a win/win as I still have Halladay, Verlander, Strasburg, Zimmerman and Lincecum on my auto-drafted staff.
