I got this idea from USCDoom on the water cooler. Pretty much just assign people from the SportsHoopla hockey board that you would want on your team and what you feel their attributes would be in that position.
Obviously... 3 forwards, 2 dmen, and a goalie. Throw a coach in there too.
My Team:
LW - Me, my natural position, I am a very gritty player and love to crash the net. Pretty much the only way I have ever gotten a goal.
C - Tox, seems like a dude who takes shit straight on, I like him centering my line and setting up some nice scoring chances. I can see him racking up a lot of assists and being there for some great secondary scoring chances on my many missed shots.
RW - 46, he is somewhat of a hothead, and appears like he may take after Avery a little bit. I would need that agitator on my team to get under the oppositions skin and still have the ability to net some goals as well.
D - Matt (Auto), just seems like a dude who takes no shit, would be in your face and QB a good powerplay. Plus Lidstrom is on his team, he's gotta know a little something about getting the job done.
D - SuperFlyer, I don't need a team that is all glitz and glamour and looking for fancy playmaking. I see SF being a shutdown Dman who would be relentless along the boards and definitely kill penalties like its his business.
G - Mattola, he is naturally a netminder, and recently said that his team made the finals. He knows his hockey and Luongo is on his team. I could definitely have faith in him covering up some mistakes from the drunken fools listed above.
As for a Coach - Darkstone, I could see him constructing some crazy elaborate equations on the bench that would definitely make our team lights out.
