Just a random flashback because I was thinking of Julio Franco randomly tonight while perusing the box score...

Anyone know he had over 4,200 combined total hits? Only Pete Rose and Ty Cobb had more in the majors, minors and international play. (source: the all-knowing Wikipedia).

Maybe quibbling to include the minors and international play, but it's still mind-blowing to think a guy with that swing with the heaviest bat allowed made it work THAT well.

I used to get so damn excited seeing him come to the plate back in the early 90's with the Rangers, just to see him get into his hitting stance.

I love Julio Franco. He and Oddibbe McDowell were my fav players growing up.
