Why would a PG like CP3 who isn’t a score first PG want to run with LeBron? LeBron is the defacto PG on most every team he’s played on.

Why would you ring chase with a team going home in round 1 when LeBron is a year older? Looking at next year, I can rattle off 6-7 better contenders than Lakers for next season:
Nets, Bucks, Sixers, Suns, Jazz, Nuggets, Mavs (they have cap room and Cuban is aggressive). This doesn’t account for the Warriors potentially coming back as well.

Probably for the same reason things worked with Rondo last year. Lebron knows that at his age, he can't run the offense all game, every game like he used to. Last year, when they were in the game together, Rondo ran the offense as much or more than Lebron.

Lebron would defer to CP3 so neither of them would have to run the offense all game long. That would actually help both of them to have more energy at the end of games.

Lebron can still be the best player in the game and CP3 can still be the best pg in the game. Sharing the load of running the offense would help them both.

But that same story says he wants 3 years $100 mil so not the Lakers

He's trying to get an extension with the Suns that maybe keeps them away from the luxury tax for another year. Mutually beneficial in the short term. Extensions for Ayton and Bridges beyond that will likely push them over though, so a 3 year extension could be an issue?

Will he be worth that money in 3 years? Probably not.

Rondo is a 20 minute a night player and CP3 is a 32-36 minute a night player. I don’t think you can compare the two. And if you ask either LBJ or CP3 to play off the ball you take away the aspect of the game that makes them elite.

Why is Chris Paul taking a bazillion dollar pay cut in this reality?

See above, he ain't going to the Lakers they can't afford him.

Yes you can. Elite players are perfectly capable of figuring those things out. Especially when they have the experience of Lebron and CP3. Neither can run the offense for the entire game anymore and both are smart enough to know it. I seriously doubt it would be much of an issue and would ultimately make them each better at the end of games.

Fair points. I disagree but it’s just an opinion.

Exactly. The Lakers need more of a combo guard than a true point. Some playmaking ability, defense, and perimeter shooting (if Schroder doesn't stick around, and he just said today he wants to and it's not about the money).
