Are there any contract geeks that can tell me if the owners have any recourse to go after a prorated amount of signing bonuses from the players that opt out?
if u opt out u get 150 grand and contract rolls over to next year:suds:

These opt outs have interesting salary cap ramifications for the following season, since the contracts carry over to the next year.

On Goodwin, I never expected him to contribute much anyway for Philly.

Pointing out stupid comments from you is far from being a fan club, it's simply pointing out stupid comments.
You just can't help yourself. I trigger you every time I post.

Marcus Cannon is a cancer survivor, so he's got good reason to opt out.

Now, if there's no season, does anyone get paid? If a player opts out, does he get paid, or does he only get paid if there's a season to opt out of?

If opting out is the only way for someone, particularly a borderline player, to guarantee at least some paycheck, they've given a lot of players a good reason to skip the season.
Yeah, there are definitely some borderline players that will opt out, taking the guaranteed $150k, instead of being cut

Vikings NT Michael Pierce has opted out of the 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Pierce has a case of "really bad asthma." That entitles him to the $350,000 "high-risk stipend." Pierce was the only notable addition in free agency for a team that let Everson Griffen walk. Griffen does remain on the open market. Going on 28, Pierce's $3 million guaranteed will now toll to 2021. This is not the case with Pierce, but an unforeseen dynamic could be players opting out to hedge against losing their guaranteed money if COVID-19 eventually forces the cancellation of the season

I believe they keep any bonus earned. It also sound like for each player who opts out their contract is extended 1 year, example a player entering the final year of a contract, who opts out is now under contract for 2021, with the same salary as if it were 2020.

So does that mean Jackson will be cut?

No because DeSean is actually an important part of the team.

The rule of law in the NFL is if you fuck up you better hope you are good enough to justify any backlash for a team keeping you. If you aren't good enough then you will be gone.

So if Goodwin out plays Old Man Jackson Goidwin is still gone, even though it was Jackson who posted the tweet you're readyvto release Goodwin on?

You make zero sense.
