I will say it! Cousins needs to get his head directly out of his arse and start playing football. He is not in the same conversation as Rodgers when it comes to top QB's. This preparation is starting to remind me of how we looked last season when we opened up against the Steelers. The wake up call was last week Kirk!!

The guy is being paid like a top tier QB so he should lead like one. As far as the couple of possessions of preseason football. After like 5 possessions, you would think the offense could get something going but as you said, Cousins is no Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Wilson, Rothlisberger, Ryan or Carr at this point. The team should be prepared to come out firing on all cylinders week 1 and we shouldn't expect anything less. Gruden and his staff deserve serious scrutiny if that does not happen.

However the stats the past two years say he out performed many of those you just listed. Of course several of us have noted some are going to bitch and whine with each incompletion and some are going to with each good play. He has been a slow starter. Whether that is him or the entire team only the coaching staff knows.

Personally I am not going to over a couple of preseason games. Some here might want to start

What exactly do you mean by Gruden & co deserving serious scrutiny if this team falls somewhat short on Sun? Gruden & the team will be judged on the entire season - not just the opening few weeks. It is entirely possible that they fall short on Sun but do very well for the remainder of the season. On the flip side they could do great on Sun yet fall short for the remainder of the season. We need to stop trying to make instant judgments on everything.

In this era of limited contact & practice teams are going to look a little shakier in preseason than they have in the past. Also - the Redskins made a lot of changes to their roster and coaching staff so one would expect this to take some time. Not making excuses - just trying to bring some reality to the situation. In terms of Cousins - he will also be judged on the entire season - he bet on himself so now (i.e. 2017) is the time for him to put up or shut up.
