Kirk was not the savior, and based on his play, would not have beaten RGIII for the starter this year...I am convinced right now......Go ahead and have an open competition...it would take the new coach probably less then a week to see that RGIII is the best option to lead this team.....

I thought it was borderline absurd to think Cousins would somehow be better than Griffin and a better QB going forward. Give it, Cousins has only played a handful of games...looked average in all of those (at best) and Griffin did nothing to prove he is much better. But RG has an upside through the ceiling and Cousins looks like a career backup to me. Hope I am wrong. But I agree...don't feel like we would get much more than we paid for him regarding draft/trade value. At least right now...

AGree with the less time then a week you had there....but I figured.....what the Hell...give Cousins a legit week to prove himself as lacking comparred to RGIII

This is kinda the point too. QB is really freaking important. We shouldn't be paying somebody 20 mil a year if they can't take advantage of the many opportunities they had to win this game. So yea there's other issues but QB is pretty fing important especially when we spent all offseason on the brink of handing him a huge contract.

Cousins and his agent had the Skins between a rock and a hard place. I think SM did the right thing. Still a long way to go so I am not writing a guy off after two games but the rock is slipping towards Cousins big toe at the moment.

You can't expect him to hit every bomb but he left a lot of points on the field yesterday.

He picked up enough points that if our defense wasnt bottom three, we should have won that game despite his play.

There is plently of blame to go around.
  • Joe Barrys - lack of adjustments
  • GM SM - where's the beef ?
  • Gruden - predicatable
  • Cousins - poor execution
But the goal isnt to win just "that game" but a super bowl ... & to do that they need to be capable of putting up 35+

The goal likely needs to be put on hold for several years.

its cool if we as fans have that expectation

but i hope the employees of the Redskins organization do not show up to work every day with that attitude.

Best interest of the team.....A Trade

Best interest of Kirk cash wise....another Tag, guaranteed money and likely not his best effort on the field.

Long term deal won't happen, he wants out!, Snyder does not want to pay what he wants = Standoff = Playing it out.

LOL. Good job bumping this thread. I think now that the employees of the Redskins show up every day hoping that they keep their job & making sure that they bow down to Snyder & Allen whenever they see these pompous idiots.

All your complaining is fine if that is how you feel but this is the 2nd time you have indicated Cousins will not give his best effort on the field. He has never done anything to make you think that not to mention it would not be in his best interest to under perform. On many occasions you have heard how much of a competitor he is.

This is what I know for certain.......He does not want to be here!

If that gives some hope that he'll ball out, then my apologies to everyone who believes that, we'll have to agree to disagree. Forget the "Nice Guy" version of Kirk, this is a cold hearted, strictly business Kirk that we're dealing with now. Complaining???

I think he plays hard, I think that is who he is. We can wait and see if he plays well but I don't think he will give a half hearted effort.

Complaining, bitching .... maybe not the right word. I know a lot put a lot of stock in SM. I did not put so much because as I have said on more than one occasion I know some folks that work for the organization. I bought into it when they hired Shanahan, then they went and traded for McNabb right off. My only advice is to have some patience and see how it plays out. You have to do it your way. I have also said this many times, you don't change the spots on leopard. He might hide in the brush but he is still a leopard. :D
