If we, USC, wins the game will be close. But if Bama wins, it may be a blow out. I'm very concerned with the D line. If we can get some three and outs early and score consistently to begin the game, it's possible that the Trojans can leave with a win. Either way, we find out very early in the season what kind of team, and coach, we have.

Can't disagree with that.

But keep your eye out for Tim Williams, the DE. He's going to shine this year I think. He should hit 20+ sacks this year if he plays all 3 downs.

Yeahhhhh dunno about that.

He had 11 last year in limited play. He was only a 3rd down/pass specialist player last year.

9 more while playing all 3 downs isn't that far of a stretch.

He only had 13 other solo tackles..12 of them were for a loss.

That's the point though. He was a specialist. Whether or not he was good enough to play all three downs is not the point. It's that he was always put in a target rich environment when he was on the field. He was in positions ripe for sacks. Whole lot harder to get sacks on 2nd and 4 than 3rd and 8.

He's been bending our O-Line over all spring, if he's not a monster our offense is in big big trouble.

It could happen. For the third straight year, Alabama is having problems deciding on a starting QB and there are no Big Dog running backs with gaudy statistics returning as there has been for the last several years. And when you look back at Bama's spring game, there was very little offense generated in a 7-3 final outcome. And, even though its the first year without Kirby Smart leading the defense in a LOOONNNNGGG time, that side of the field should still be pretty dominant.

Alabama may have the best receiving corp in the college football universe, but that could all go to waste if there is no one at QB who can get them the ball consistently.

On the other side, USC didn't even keep score in their spring game, so you don't really know what their potential may be. Still, give Alabama an edge in the return game & in the possibility for the Tide's ability to generate points on defense. It may be a shaky start, but I wouldn't bet against Nick Saban in an opening game.
Hmmm, Bama with QB issues is as predictable as snow in Alaska.

20 sacks would tie Elvis Dumerville's record. It would be a school and conference record.

Von Miller managed 17. I think it's safe to say he is not the next Von Miller.

Derrick Thomas is the record he says is his goal.

Why is that?

Why is that?

The statistical chance of him becoming a pro bowler is in the single digit percentage mark.

I think we're getting off track here. I just don't think he gets to 20 sacks. That's just my opinion.

The FACT is, this is the best pass rushing defense Nick Saban has ever had.

I have been to hell. I saw a lot of USC players there. They can't get away from hell.

Therefore, no chance in hell.

Seems like a trash article to me. I guess Saban forced Sark to drink and give you guys a new coach this year?

USC is the 2nd most talented team in the country according to 247.

It's funny he mentions Clemson, because Alabama beat a top10 Clemson team in 2008 to start the season in Atlanta in a neutral site game.

I think the point is more that the game was scheduled before USC was back to full strength as far and both numbers and experience.

As excited as I am for this game, I'd rather be playing it next year. I think that's when we will truly be "back."

Well, USC is apparently only "fake good" this year.
