They won't be thaaat bad. But if that somehow happened it would be pretty scary. Though I think something like that would increase the chances of KD signing with the Wizards when he becomes a FA.

No, they won't.

But, they don't have to be in the West.

It will likely take 50 games to get the 8th seed.

That is not a given if both guys miss 2 months plus.

They'll be fine, they're going to have it tough though until Westbrook and Durant come back though.

Misnomer it is, there is a cloud over the Thunder. I really believed OKC had to make big progress this year or shake it all up. I think Presti has to be contemplating some BIG decisions. I think it may have peaked at OKC.

Lets say hypothetically they go something like 3-13 to start the season. What would you do if you were Sam Presti?

They need to stop being so cheap.

That only works for the Spurs and it might be over for them too with Leonard.

Someone will over pay for him this Summer and the Spurs will blink.

Well, I gotta say, I dont think Westbrook is paramount to the future. He will have his chance to prove us all wrong, so we will see. I think a PG more like Rondo, and a 20% improvement with a better big would do the trick. The argument to trade off westbrook, tank, get a great pick and then sign to decent FA's along with assets from westbrook deal has to be appealing. The formula is not working, and its a year until you can really try a new one. Its a big time for Sam

Just wait. Because once KD and Russ get back they could just as easily go 13-3 in their next 16 games. It's a long season, but it's gonna take patience for them.

Jackson
Lamb
Jones
Perkins
Roberson

Are all tradeable players.

:pound:

You'd have to pay me to take Kendrick Perkins. The deal should be:

Team A gets: Kendrick Perkins, a shit ton of cash, weekends at the beach house

OKC gets: Nothing...unless you count the absence of Perkins...which is likely a plus.

NVM. OKC wins that trade.

Back to the topic at hand, I only see them missing it if both Westbrook and Durant are on the upper end of recovery time or go past it. If both can make it back within the first couple of weeks of December, which is the early prognosis, then they should be good enough to get in as a low seed 6, 7, or 8. But they'll have ZERO margin of error if the West is as super competitive as its projected to be.

I would love to see the Thunder miss the playoffs, but you got to stop trolling them because common sense should tell you no. West will miss 4-6 weeks, Durant and Westbrook will both be back by late January at the worst. That's plenty of time for them to make a push for the playoffs and if they end up in the 7th or 8th, look for a top seeded team to get knocked off in the first round

Trolling? Uhh, this is a pretty legit question. Falling behind early in the season in the Western Conference is a big no-no.

I tend to agree. I won't be surprised if Durant wants out eventually.

He seems the loyal dude. I think Presti has to make some moves to show he is serious. That Harden deal was huge. They should have gone for it, pay the luxury tax if needed and win one.

I agree.

I'm waiting to see how they do against other teams. Hard to judge them when they play 2 good teams

If they start losing bad eastern teams and bad western teams like UtAH, Minny, sac, or etc then I'm worried

Providing Pops is coaching the Spurs that gravy train will keep on rolling.
