What about the U.S.?

Honestly I'm not sure how they go about choosing the 2 teams from North America and the Caribbean for this tournament as it is mainly a South America tournament. I know in 2011 we were there. Next year though they're having another copa america which is actually being played here but it may be canceled due to that FIFA scandal

Should be fun if they don't postpone it

CONCACAF and CONMEBOL Announce Agreement to Bring Copa America 2016 to the United States

Anyway if you're just a USA soccer fan and don't care to watch international soccer unless we are involved, the gold cup begins July 7th but if you don't mind watching international soccer that doesn't include USA, this is a great 2 months which leads right up to the start of the EPL, LA Liga, & etc.

So did some quick research just now and it seems like the 2 non South America teams are basically invited by CONMEBOL.

Since 1993, CONMEBOL has invited two guest nations to participate to allow a more balanced group stage. None of the outsiders has ever won the tournament, though Mexico has made it to the finals twice and Honduras and the United States have reached the semifinal round.

I'd be pretty shocked if the first two you have listed in each group don't advance.

But remember 2 of the 3rd place teams advance as well. Bolivia is trash but I would not be all that shocked that in South America if Ecuador actually finishes ahead of Mexico.

Paraguay is another tricky team as well.

My 8 advancing to the knockout stage would be Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, and Colombia.

Paraguay and Ecuador would be my wild cards too. I don't foresee any real surprises in group play

Agree but I do look forward to some of the group matches like Brazil vs Columbia, Argentina vs Uruguay, & Mexico vs Chile

No doubt those are the 'must watch' games during group play. Really looking forward to them. Also looking to see how Brazil responds after what has to be considered a disappointing WC showing

Argentina just beat Bolivia in last warm up friendly for the Copa 5-0 without Messi, Tevez or Mascherano who were all in the Champions League final.

I would be shocked if they get one point out of the group games

Chile dominated tonight.

Only won 2-0 but in reality could have easily been a 4-0 win.

Good action today in group B.

Jamaica held tough with Uruguay while Paraguay came back from 2-0 at the half to draw with Argentina
