It's apparent that some of you didn't or couldn't watch the game. Brissett had a thick bandage around his right thumb when the game started. That in itself was enough to let everyone know that he was not going to do much passing, including the Bills. The Bills filled the box and shut down the run. The Patriots continued to try to run the ball and were 3 and out on three consecutive drives......and were down 10-0.

This is where the defense shit their pants and couldn't do what they had done in the three previous games. Either BB or Patricia made the decision to go into man coverage against the spread and the defense backfield played safe ball. They gave up the passes to make the immediate tackles and the Bills just marched up and down the field.

When they decided to start making contact, they got flagged because they had been playing off all day and everything appeared to be holding or interference.

Not once in the first half did the defense blitz. BB hates to sacrifice coverage for an opportunity to sack the QB. I think he was more concerned with Taylor getting outside and gaining 25.

Overall, it was a poor job coaching. They attempted to play 60 minutes of prevent defense instead of the defense that's been successful in 2016. It cost them the game. You can't play not to lose in the NFL, you have to play to win.

Generally agree Ken - but the game was just a stinker all the way around.
Bad coaching? - check
Bad offense? - check
Bad ST's? Check
Bad officiating? - check
Bad defense? - bad game plan. Only gave up 3 points in 2nd half?

The worst part was that the Bills were playing "Don't Lose the Game" in the second half and they won it.

That just had to be the worst performance by a Bill Belichick coached Patriots team since he's been here.

I wasn't expecting a great game by JB. The kid actually did a really good job, considering he's a rookie, had an injured hand and could only use about 10% of the offensive playbook.

The biggest problem on defense was the plan to make Taylor throw but not defend the passing game. The defenders were back 6-7 off the line of scrimmage in what could only be called a man zone. That allowed Taylor to pick a target and easily toss the ball for a completion. The pass itself was not being defended.

Another thing that really pissed me off.......the Patriots field goal defense. 10 men down on the line of scrimmage and Jamie Collins 2 yards in back of the D-Line. Collins on every FG attempt just stood back there, never moved, scratching his ass. Why bother having him on the field at all?? Send out a fan out of stands and let them watch close up for a $1000 donation to the Jimmy Fund.

I think Collins being like that is more a spy in case some kind of crazy fake field goal happens. He is one of the few that has the intelligence, speed, and ability to make the play to stop something like that. So while that might only happen once every few years to a team still something you have to game plan for especially in those divisional games where teams are willing to try a few extra things. It could also be that teams will watch some of that and see that he doesn't do anything so they kind of ignore him until all of a sudden in a crucial moment here he comes able to jump over the Center and make the block.
