5-7 age range...so you don't take yours on the go?

Was planning to use it as a reward for good behavior on road trips in addition to a family oriented at-home activity
Family oriented, than you'd better get a controller for you and the missus as well.

And then CRUSH their will to live on Mario Kart like I did to mine on the Wii

this will be my first system purchase since wii and Xbox 360, so I've been out of the loop for a couple generations of video game platforms, was happy to use the kids as an excuse now that they're old enough.

Been playing Mario Kart from the original on SNES to N64, GameCube and Wii, easily my favorite Nintendo franchise

Mine are just a little bit older 7 and 9. They have their own Kindles so they use that on the road. They also have a Switch at their parents house, so bring their games back and forth. I will have to look to see what games they have.

Havent bought a video game since Mattel's Intellivision.

But i bought at least 3 pair of ice skates, about a bakers dozen hockey sticks, 2 helmets, 2 sets of chest protecters, 2 sets of shin guards, 3 hockey pants and 6 sweaters.

So about the same $$ as an XBOX.

Notre Dame defense showing up for first ever CFB playoff tourney. Not a fan of ND or anything, but love seeing teams from outside the power conferences win

Question for our resident Canadians @TKOSpikes and @Barilko

Here in the states, some of our popular sports are on channels we have to pay for. ESPN, ESPN+, Amazon Prime, Netflicks etc.

Do you have this nonsense in Canada? Lile to watch hockey?

Our home phone/internet/cable packages are disgraceful. Mid $200's per month.
I dropped to internet only (still a ridiculous mid $100's), and have subscriptions to some streaming services, but hockey is rare. I have lost interest in hockey, but there are some free apps that would allow me to watch (CBC), and I think Prime has some games now and then.

With cable, Sportsnet and TSN regularly show games. I'm not sure how much has changed in the few years since I've had it though.
I believe there's a Sportsnet+ app too.

Losing access to baseball has been my issue. I have DAZN for football, but baseball has it's own MLB package to seek out (Sportsnet and TSN had regular games too). Prime also has some rare ball games, but not enough.

Yes we do hockey blackouts across the nation.... playout the same way as football

we have National games on Wed Sat and Sunday but various blackouts enforced otherwise

here i see my Habs and Ottawa at all times but Toronto Edmonton Calgary Vancouver Winnipeg games are not available unless on the Wed Sat Sunday night national game

we get tons of US based games all week

Monday night prime games and some other prime games cant be seen unless of course ya have prime

My Habs have been primed a few times but that is where watching in French comes in handy as RDS Reseau Des Sports (basically TSN French) as they go National across this Great Wide Nation..thus Habs play 82 and i see all 82

When it comes to Football we get every NFL game available no blackouts as we are not in any local market

and TSN picks up the prime games

Im thinking we may lose the Prime games soon enough (when Prime enforces restrictions in Canada as well -only a matter of time)

There ya go Joe Go Habs Go
