At least we're still in LA. There's on reason why... Bo has a rep with the HS coaches. He's got one of these...

I'd like the coaches to cut ties with him completely, no room for that type of immaturity on a team. He's obviously a fan of attention.

Damn Nut, this is a message board so I may be reading too much into your post but I do believe this is the closest I have ever seen you to being pissed off.

LOL.

I don't think nut needs to worry about the coaches cutting ties with him. It sounds to me like Mr Dale has made the decision to do that on his own.

It's overall a very odd situation. He broke the news with a weird tweet that basically said, "Settle down people, I'm not really committed to anyone." Only a day after he committed and verified his commitment with multiple media outlets. Then there's been a ton of speculation that his dad is making him wait until they can talk about it when he gets home on Wednesday and then how the HS coach is doing the same thing. Overall, just bizarre.

For anyone to commit somewhere and then act like that wasn't a commitment at all is a serious red flag IMO. Would I take Dale's skill set? Absolutely? His attention seeking and self serving attitude? Absolutely not. Either way, we'll be fine at safety. Marquise Doherty is better anyway, and seems to have a more stable head on his shoulders as well. I hope we throw the kitchen sink at Doherty and pull Dale's offer. If he wants to play games let him play games, just let him know he won't be playing us.

Usually with recruiting it's too up and down to get too emotionally invested. You just have to go with the flow... however i've been thoroughly annoyed with certain behaviors by recruits in the past... recently you have Clinkscales and Christian Locouture, and now Dale.

He's a kid who probably jumped the gun a little bit. Nebraska puts on quite a show for their recruits and it is easy to see how one could caught up in the moment. Commitment is not something that should be rushed in to. I know that in that same situation, my own son would not be allowed to make a decisions until we discussed things.

Cut the kid a break and let's see what happens Wednesday. He may decide that he wants to be a Husker. If not, well, then he can go to hell......

Remember Dominic Walker, the WR who flipped to Auburn at the last second? He was taunting Husker fans on Twitter saying "tell me the last Nebraska receiver to get drafted" after he had Nebraska shit plastered all over his account.

I just think, even if you're 18 years old, if you have good parents and you were brought up right there's no way you make that kind of decision and go back on it. Especially that quick. Coach Warren even tweeted out the commitment. I don't think this kid remotely appreciates the gravity of his situation, and that concerns me if he's eventually going to be suiting up for NU.

These types of kids... They never pan out. It's the dudes like Randy Gregory (who doesn't even HAVE a twitter account) who have their priorities in check. They're not concerned with inconsequential bullshit like hype, recruiting, name dropping, twitter followers, TV interviews, youtube hits etc.

I used to love recruiting, but social media has me soured on it at this point.

It just has me wondering how many more Stringfellow's and Dale's we're gonna have to put up with.

At what point do we start questioning our staff's recruiting ability?

I almost forgot about Walker... that was the most messed up decommit of all time IYAM. As for our staff's inability to recruit... you really can't hold situations like this against them. They saw the talent, got it to visit and presumably got a commitment out of him. And then, he turns around and pulls a stunt like this. Whether he just got "excited" and committed w/o knowing what he was doing is insignificant. His mother was with him on the trip, she should have been able to tell him not to rush into a decision, she didn't and he committed and then his dad steps in and stops the commitment... horrific parenting in this situation.

Dale and Nebraska have both moved on from what i've seen. Dale is a diva, I think it's a good move to get away from that immaturity. Very divisive.
