Nebraska picked up a pair of local commits tonight. #1 rated player in the state (IMO) Michael Decker and a very athletic DE in Daishon Neal (6'8" 240 lb) out of Omaha Central... 2 Omaha kids in one class... good to see.

I would assume both would be 3-stars at some point. Neither are rated currently.

Decker's a 5.6 OG on Rivals... 3-star rating... I would expect a similar rating on 247 and Scout when Scout actually evaluates him at his position.

Speak of the devil... Decker got rated an 86 on 247 today whereas Neal got an 84 rating. Neal is a project for sure, we'll likely take 2 more DEs in this class to give him time to grow but he has rare atheltic ability that if groomed could turn him into a rare talent. (both 3-stars)

Maybe Neal can turn into a Margus Hunt.

Hunt was a world class athlete that had never played football until he went to SMU for track and field.

Neal has played football and is going to attend Nebraska.

Both are 6' 8".

The big difference, Hunt knew how to work to become world class, Neal needs to work to be Nebraska Class.

I have no opinion on either of them.

IDK much of Neal so Ive some ?'s, is 6'7''-8'' a bit tall for DE? Would he be given a go at TE with his speed or would it even be considered? Ultimately I like this commit, it's just his height is crazy tall for a D guy to me

6'7'' is pretty tall. Someone mentioned Margus Hunt, (6'8") but that guy is an absolute physical freak.

FB nut you should throw up a thread about the spring game visitors. Any chance we nab a couple more recruits this weekend?

Carricker ( I know I butchered the shit out if it Brasky ) was/is 6'6" no I don't think height is a problem at DE, most tackles are 6'6" or taller
