Former KSU commit and 4-star RB committed to Nebraska after his official visit. With Nebraska likely to part ways with Aphonso Thomas at some point this is a big get.

Hmm

Comes out of a zone read offense. Likely a red-shirt.
Lacks great speed, but has a decent center of gravity. Could be a good durable RB between the tackles. Not much footage of him catching balls, but of the little I saw, he can concentrate on the ball and catch.

Not spelling this right is 50 lashes, nut. You don't have to be a spelling bee champ on this site, but that's one you don't mess up! :tsk:

I just watched one of his videos on youtube. I really like him. Reminds me of Le'Veon.

Watch it again, but this time think abut the added speed he'll see in CFB.

He's a good 'grind it out' work-horse back at best. Maybe some little drop-off passes out of the backfield. Not an impressive list of offers. More middle of the pack to lower P5 and a few Mid-majors. I'm seeing serviceable.

Disagree... he's better than Thomas, and has great vision in the open field and can block well as well. Reminds me of Devine Ozigbo to a certain extent... he's a good player.

I agree with the open field. But it'll be harder to find when he's with better/faster athletes.

He also changes direction pretty well at that level.

He's not a total package though. That's why his offer list looks the way it does. Of course he could be a diamond in the rough gem.

247 has him the #7 RB nationally, his sparq tests are equal to what AA's were coming out of HS, so very good

"Tre Bryant is one of the elite share of athletes invited to Nike's The Opening Finals in Oregon during July," said Powers. "He's a tremendous tester, posting one of the top SPARQ scores in the nation. He has the size, strength, power, explosion, and speed. A lot of that should carry over to the running back position, but he needs to develop a bit more patience and vision."

How can I be far off saying he's more of a between the tackle's power back, when he's being compared to Bell?

The vast majority of Bell's runs were short yardage between the tackles. Not take it to the house stuff.

The speed's not there.

Yea, I like his ability to cut though. He makes guys miss, which may be worth something. He definitely has great vision.

There is no doubt he's not Terrell Newby with a 4.3 40 or anything like that. He's a different kind of back. He reminds me more of an old day Nebraska back.

This is the video I watched, for the record. I know this is a highlights video, but I don't see how anyone says he needs to improve on vision. His cuts are perfectly calculated. Few backs have the ability to cut before a Defender makes their move. It's all instinct.

Abdullah:
