Why as people who won't play in the game, would you say this? These words only erase doubt or fear and increase focus. Keep up the good work Seth

Comment from Reddit, some wild similarities

Like I said the day the Commanders beat the Lions. The stars are aligning for 2007 Giants-like run.

2007 Giants -beat Tampa Bay on the road as 6th seed in the wildcard round. -beat the #1 seed on the road in a dome in a upset in the divisional playoffs. -beat the #2 seed on the road in overtime in one of the coldest playoff games of all time in the NFCCG -beat an undefeated team seeking its 4th title in a seven year run in the Super Bowl.

2024 Commanders

  • beat Tampa Bay on the road as 6th seed in the wildcard round. ✅ -beat the #1 seed on the road in a dome in a upset in the divisional playoffs. ✅ -beat the #2 seed on the road in the NFCCG ❔ -beat a dynasty seeking its fourth Super Bowl during a seven year run ❔
And the similarlities don't stop there. Dan Quinn, like Tom Coughlin, was a very successful head coach but just could not quite get over the hump to a win a Super Bowl despite very good chances to do so (Quinn's Falcons and Coughlin's Jaguars). Both were fired in their first stints as NFL head coaches and Coughlin was able to win a Super Bowl when no one said they would. Sound familiar?

Lastly, how about the quarterbacks? Well, if you ask me the quarterback most like Daniels in terms of demeanor is Eli Manning who was noted in his early career for not having a pulse and staying even keel in extremely high pressure situations. When the team wasn't winning this came across as placid but when the game was on the line that's the exact kind of mentality a player needs to thrive. It isn't an accident that Manning was noted for being one of the most clutch QBs in his era. Daniels has the same traits and it is why he has been so successful in clutch situations. The ability to stay calm when everything around you is going crazy is one of things that separates the great ones from the good ones.

Don't be surprised if they pull it off.

I hadn't really thought about the similarities until a Giants friend of mine mentioned that this season of ours reminded him of that run

I wonder if Washington will run 5 man fronts at times with Hurts having a knee injury
