Is it me or is Mahomes one of the most talented QBs to play the position in the past 30 years? His ability to extend plays and throw on the run, with different arm slots, and to stay cool under pressure is fun to watch. I thought he was going to be a bust coming from Texas Tech. Was I an idiot or what?

The back seven will cost us some games this year. It is what it is at this point.

Well yeah, but two years ago we were able to overcome that. So far I haven't seen enough to think we will this year. My hope is that the defense looked bad last year because we played every tier one QB in the league.

The year before that we played every backup qb in the league it seemed. Hopefully this year we fall somewhere in the middle. with the weapons we have on offense and a favorable schedule, a middle of the pack defense might be enough to make a playoff run.

Exactly. While I hope these players make it back quickly, they will be rusty going into the season. Same thing happens with MLB: the players that have no spring training struggle early on as they get up to game speed.

We need to come out of the gate fast. At this point, I do not see that happening at all. I have us at 1-1 going into week 3. Anyone who is pleased with the preseason play of this team is simply ignorant.

I have not seen the game yet , I will tomorrow , I will give my appraisal then .

Off hand it looks like in the vanilla no game plan preseason we can’t compete with elite teams much like last year

They overcome it every year to an extent, that's a big part of the problem imo. They start out every season it seems anywhere from borderrline shitty to outright shitty. Not a seaason has went by in I don't know how long where at least a couple times a year. Somone in the secondary or the entire secondary looks like a pile of hot dog shit on a pile of horse shit. A huge problem with the Skins is they very rarely look ready to start the season. From what I've seen thus far this year. That's not gonna change much. I hope I'm wrong, but fuck, I'm always hoping I'm wrong when it comes to this team 90%+ of the time it seems.
