Is it me or is Mahomes one of the most talented QBs to play the position in the past 30 years? His ability to extend plays and throw on the run, with different arm slots, and to stay cool under pressure is fun to watch. I thought he was going to be a bust coming from Texas Tech. Was I an idiot or what?
So we can be in the dummy line together .... I did not see him being this good.

Yes to one of the best in a long time. Since he came into the league he has shown the ability to create. He throws from all angles. Unheard of in told time football. Sonny might have done it some. His years of playing SS in baseball where you learn to throw from many different angles has stood him well, his words ... not mine.

Tonight they had him rolling to the left near the numbers, the left side was covered ... he was being chased ... he looks back to the middle of the field and sees a guy wide open and slings a side arm pass right on target. What can you say ... GREAT play. RR gave him credit but was pissed that the rush lanes broke down. The dude is a freak.

Another play tonight St. Juste in a half a step away on blitz, Mahomes throws straight down the middle right over Curl's head to a TE that has a step. If the ball is a half yard shorter it gets broke up, a yard further and it is incomplete. It is right on the money.

Play three that stood out to me. Fuller and the TE are in the left corner of the end zone face to face. Mahomes sees it, throws the ball a yard or two behind the TE who turns and makes the catch. He threw a cover guy open.

You want to blame the D but those were just three great plays.

Could be, but Atlanta Falcons Vick and pre injury Philly Randall Cunningham were unbelievable as well.

Oh I won't disagree but don't forget Steve Young had that ability too. I would probably take Rodgers and Mahomes over both. Their are a couple of other contenders in todays NFL, don't think they will quite get there but watch Josh Allen.

Steve Young's run vs the Vikings is probably a top 10 to 15 NFL play of all time. I hate he wasted a lot of his years with the Express, Tampa, and sitting behind Montana. Forgot about Rodgers.

I will watch the game soon but my first thoughts are a top team like the chiefs will stomp a mud hole in this defense

2nd Robinson avg was 3.9 per carry so meh on that

Wince wasn’t anything but falco played better while Howell is learning

When you watch Robinson run its night and day compared to when Ag runs. Robinson should be RB1.

Well at least we didn't have any major injuries to deal with. The starters won't play in game #3. that's a positive.

Defense

The d line has been disruptive for the most part so far. Wise has flashed and Toohill made a nice play yesterday. Jamin has looked much better. Mahomes on that play where he hit his Rb in the flat, it appeared Jamin was supposed to chip him and didn't.

Holcomb gave up a few plays over the middle and underneath. On the Mahomes scramble, Holcomb followed the crossing route instead of staying home. Not sure if that's what he was supposed to do but it cost us a big play. I expect a learning curve with both of them. I still say we need to eventually get a vet MIKE in here.

Now I know why JDR doesn't like to blitz that often. Curl, and McCain gave up big plays. Fuller was up and down, but for the most part he was solid. BSJ got smoked and if not for an overthrow, the Chiefs get a walk in 60 yard score.

The back seven will cost us some games this year. It is what it is at this point.

SPECIAL TEAMS
I loved what I saw from the coverage unit. They flew to the ball and gang tackled. It's like night and day from what I'm used to seeing on ST coverage. Slye was solid as usual.

Forgot to mention Shaka Toney flashed and I'm curious as to what kind of football shape Landon Collins is in.
